Despite terrible storylines and a notable, real-life #MeToo-type scandal, Showtime’s SMILF has somehow returned for a second season. In an effort to prove how grossly insane that decision was, the latest episode goes full throttle with the disgusting and sacrilegious “humor.” Sadly, last week's fairly tame season two premiere seems to have only been a fluke.

Showtime's Shameless, on Sunday night's episode titled "BOOOOOOOOOOOONE!," delved into the fraught language surrounding abortion. In the prior episode Frank Gallagher (William H. Macy) and his girlfriend Ingrid (Katey Sagal) used vitro fertilization to start a family.

CW’s Supergirl has promised to debut the first transgender superhero on television, and now we’ve reached the cusp of that character's origin story. To absolutely no one’s surprise, it’s deluded, self-righteous, and more than a little confusing. But that’s what you get when pretending a man has the superpower to transform into a woman.

The 25th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG) aired on TBS and TNT in a two-hour live production on January 27. Just as I was thinking that half-way through the show politics had not entered the fray, unlike last year, then Patricia Arquette won the SAG Award for the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Television Movie or Limited Series.

Freeform’s sci-fi fantasy series Siren returned Thursday night and it looks like the second season is going to make a huge splash with a liberal agenda. Last year the perils of over-fishing was a subplot that came up, but it looks like already this year’s bad guys are going to be the evil oil companies. It’s 2019 and still Trump’s America so I guess it is to be expected that a young woman turning 30-years-old in Manhattan would feel good about flipping the bird at Trump Tower while celebrating her birthday. The gesture is filmed for social media, complete with skull emojis. How mature!

ABC’s The Conners, a spinoff from the cancelled show Roseanne, spun a story meant to create sympathy for illegal immigrants in their season finale on Tuesday, “We Continue to Truck,” claiming, “These people are just trying to have a better life.” Never mind how many illegal immigrants have brought in drugs, committed crimes (in addition to being in the country illegally), and added to the numbers…

Netflix and Marvel’s The Punisher has returned for a second season despite a massive purge of Marvel shows in the previous year. The demand for ultra-violence and pseudo-politics were apparently enough to prevent its cancellation, so far. Rest assured, all of that returns for another thirteen episodes.

We already know that the liberal mainstream media will give the Women's March more press than the March for Life, but it’s not merely the news media pushing the pro-abortion agenda; they've gotten plenty of help from entertainment television in the past year.

If it’s Thursday night, it’s CBS’s The Big Bang Theory, which has come to mean another Chuck Lorre vanity card during the last few seconds of the credits. Many of them have had to do with President Trump, though Lorre once again purposefully did not mention Trump by name.

Freeform’s spin-off comedy Grown-ish, which originated from ABC's Black-ish and follows the Johnson family’s oldest daughter Zoey (Yara Shahidi) as she explores adult life in college, took a shot at controversial rapper Kanye West and his support for President Trump on Wednesday’s episode, “In My Feelings.”  

TV Land’s comedy Teachers decided to compare apples to oranges (actually, guns to bears), and mock gun owners and Second Amendment advocates in Tuesday’s episode, “Thoughts and Bears.”

The continuing saga of Florida transgender teen, Jazz Jennings, takes us through the last steps approaching her "gender confirmation surgery" in the fifth season.
