Over the years we’ve argued that the Spanish-language media, in addition to advocating for unrestricted immigration, profess an editorial line that is often deferential to the promotion of Mexico and Mexican interests. One story out of Chicago blends both of these corporate interests. 

Univision and Telemundo, known for their advocacy for illegal aliens, have outdone themselves tonight. Both newscasts featured stories at the top depicting criminal illegal aliens with deportation orders detained by ICE as victims of ICE.

Former Univision anchor Jorge Ramos insists on attempting to have a say in the way political discourse is shaped within the Hispanic community. As his most recent interview with Rep. Delia Ramirez (D-IL) demonstrates, Ramos has descended into unadulterated propagandism.

Major news was made as President Donald Trump called for a new census that excludes illegal aliens. This would also exclude them from being counted for purposes of congressional reapportionment, which would alter the makeup of Congress.

Mexico City has been the site of several “anti-gentrification” marches, protesting the presence of Americans and (to a lesser extent) Europeans relocating there after the pandemic. And yet there is nary a peep about this on the legacy media.

Reasonable individuals may conclude that the dismantling of a visa scam that facilitates immigration fraud might warrant substantial coverage on evening newscasts across the legacy media dial. But such a thing actually just happened, and no one covered it except Univision.  

We regret to inform you that Univision joined the race to the bottom to attempt to blame the catastrophic Texas floods on the Trump administration and on DOGE. An exchange on the network’s morning Despierta América suggested to viewers that the alleged cuts “had an effect” on the deaths in Texas Hill Country.

Univision continues to push deportation fear doom to their audience. The network’s latest outburst, on a Department of Justice memo issuing expanded denaturalization guidelines, plays loose with the use of the term “civil crimes.”

As we’ve often indicated, Spanish-language news media exists primarily as a vehicle for immigration advocacy. However, they are very much invested in shoving the rest of the left-wing policy pupu platter down the community’s throat. In this case, by showcasing Mexico City’s first trans police officer.

Univision’s midday newscast could not conceal its gleeful squeeing over Zohran Mamdani’s win in New York City’s Democratic mayoral primary. And some of the coverage the next day was so over-the-top that Mamdani should consider disclosing it on his campaign finance forms as an in-kind donation.

This Memorial Day weekend, we look back at the extraordinary exchange between Telemundo anchor Arantxa Loizaga and Gold Star mom Coral Briceño whose son, Cpl. Humberto Sánchez (USMC) was among the fallen at the ISIS attack on the Hamid Karzai International Airport at Kabul, Afghanistan. 

A favorite game the media continue to play is “Guess the Party”, wherein a lack of a mention of partisan affiliation is regarded as proof evident that the persona is a Democrat. The latest instance of such reporting comes via Univision, on their midday newscast.

Univision, a known advocate for open borders, kicks off Cinco de Mayo celebrations by mourning the cancellation of parades in cities such as Chicago and Philadelphia. In so doing, viewers get an inadvertent yet unvarnished message about the truth of “Latino” identity.

Amid the Legacy Media’s willful omission of Patty Morin’s brutal reconstruction of the timeline of her daughter’s murder at the White House Briefing Room, we get a glimmer of intellectual honesty: Telemundo correspondent Lourdes Hurtado asserting inconvenience at having to note Morin’s presence to begin with.
