WashPost OBSESSES Over Tucker With 11 Articles in ONLY Six Days

April 14th, 2021 5:22 PM

In a bit so obvious that they couldn’t have denied it if they even tried, The Washington Post has spent the past week going into overdrive in favor of censorship and remove Fox News Channel host Tucker Carlson from the air to the tune of at least 11 items over the past six days attacking the highly-influential primetime show.

WashPost Columnist Can't Mourn MAD Magazine Without TDS Attack

July 6th, 2019 9:52 PM
It is never a good idea to write while suffering from a case of Trump Derangement Syndrome. Such was the case with Washington Post columnist David Von Drehle on Friday when writing about the imminent demise of Mad Magazine. However instead of concentrating on Alfred E. Newman, poor Drehle just couldn't get his mind off of You-Know-Who.

Say What? WashPost Columnist Advises Citizens to 'Tune Out the News'

May 16th, 2019 10:37 AM
We've been told in recent years that to be critical of the news is to be critical of democracy itself. So it was a bit shocking that in the newspaper that screeches on each front page that "Democracy dies in darkness" ran its own columnist asking "Do we owe it to society — and ourselves — to tune out the news?"

After Year of Economic Gains, WashPost Predicts 'Trump Recession

Business
January 8th, 2018 3:57 PM
Liberal Washington Post opinion columnist David Von Drehle is sure President Donald Trump will face “a recession, slump, or God forbid, crash” before the 2020 presidential election — despite the strong economic gains so far under Trump. Von Drehle’s Jan. 5, opinion piece, “The Trump Recession is Coming,” was littered with economic language, but revealed his political bias. Von Drehle himself is…

TIME Magazine Puts Bannon, Never Axelrod, On Cover

February 2nd, 2017 4:12 PM
On Thursday's Morning Joe, the panel discussed TIME Magazine's latest cover of White House Chief Strategist and Special Counselor Steve Bannon captioned "The Great Manipulator." It is imporant to note, unlike former Bush senior adviser Karl Rove and former Obama adviser David Axelrod, Bannon has been dubbed as if he is the "president's brain." The former was on the cover of TIME in 2005, while…

Person of the Year Obama Was ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’; Trump Is a ‘Demagogue’

December 7th, 2016 11:43 AM
What a difference a Person of the Year can make. In 2008, Time journalists hailed their choice, Barack Obama, as an "Obi-Wan Kenobi" Jedi and cheered, “Why History Can’t Wait.” In contrast, 2016 Person of the Year Donald Trump is an “outlandish” “demagogue.” The Obama cover featured the now cliched hope poster. Trump’s image read, “President of the Divided States of America.”

Time Mag Touts 'The Clinton Way': They 'Play By Their Own Rules'

March 22nd, 2015 4:02 PM
Writing for the March 23 Time magazine, writer David Von Drehle delivered a 2400 word essay on just how the Clintons seem to perpetually survive scandal after scandal. He began by declaring, "The Clintons play by their own set of rules" and went on to describe why Hillary Clinton might survive the e-mail controversy.

English, Spanish Network Evening Newscasts Skip Clinton E-Mail Scandal

March 13th, 2015 1:06 AM
The English and Spanish language networks combined to completely ignore the Hillary Clinton e-mail scandal on their Thursday night shows. The network evening news blackout, which involved English-language networks ABC, CBS, and NBC and Spanish-language networks MundoFox, Telemundo, and Univision, was only the second such occurrence since the scandal broke after the evening newscasts on March 3 in…

Time Hailed 'The Ferguson Protesters,' But Saw Doom for the Tea Party

December 15th, 2014 9:12 PM
The year-end issue of Time magazine includes an enormous article on “The Ebola Fighters,” their Persons of the Year, but there are also five pages on “The Ferguson Protesters: Their refusal to let a life be forgotten turned a local shooting into a national movement.” Four years ago, Time made “The Tea Party” a runner-up, but they were projected to fall apart. The headline was “The grass-roots…

TMI: Time Editor Oozes on Orgasmic Charisma of Editor Ben Bradlee

October 28th, 2014 12:19 PM
Last week, former Washington Post features writer Martha Sherill oozed after “legendary” executive editor Ben Bradlee’s death that he was so handsome, he put Cary Grant to shame. So it’s a bit shocking to find another former Postie, Time editor at large David Von Drehle, outdoing Sherrill in the ooze department, throwing out the word “orgasm” to describe Bradlee’s charisma.

September 26th, 2012 8:00 AM
NewsBusters has been showcasing the most egregious bias the Media Research Center has uncovered over the years — four quotes for each of the 25 years of the MRC, 100 quotes total — all leading up to our big 25th Anniversary Gala tomorrow evening. (Click here for posts recounting the worst of 1988 through 2011.) Today, the worst bias of 2012 (so far): Newsweek sees Barack Obama as “…

Time Magazine Foresees Tea Party Breaking Up Like the Beatles

December 27th, 2010 9:05 AM
Time magazine's failure to choose the Tea Party as its Person or Persons of the Year surely reflects a desire that they will cease to be significant any day now. David Von Drehle's "runner-up" article in its Person of the Year issue concluded the Tea Party has already peaked and is well on its way to collapse: "The Tea Party is a hot brand, but there's no one in power to enforce the trademark.…

Time's Von Drehle: Obama's Ft. Hood Speech Ruined by Too Much TV Analy

November 13th, 2009 8:26 AM
Here we go again: a liberal journalist feeling Barack Obama's pain, that he would be instantly judged by the media. Wait, the Obama-mythologizing, pinch-me-history-is-happening media? Yes. Time's David Von Drehle wrote an article titled "Obama's Fort Hood Speech: Lost in Translation." Von Drehle compared it to...the Gettysburg Address: Lincoln was lucky. His speech at Gettysburg wasn't televised…
