Global Warming

Climate change has not been a new topic for CBS’s Madam Secretary, but it has provided some unintentionally hilarious results. The latest take sadly is not as amusing as it buries natural gas in the State Department's crusade to save the planet from the “existential threat" of global warming.

To the left, climate change is no longer a partisan issue; it’s merely a question of believers versus heretics. Perhaps that is why NBC felt justified in airing a Sunday Nightly News segment bursting at the seams with praise for liberal Democratic Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (RI), whom NBC chief climate change correspondent Anne Thompson lauded as “part teacher, part Don Quixote.”

Ah yes, what better way to get people to “help” the planet than by auctioning off prizes from mansion owning, private jet flying Hollywood stars?

The New York Times' Erica Goode latched on to a scientific smear job involving global warming and polar bears, under the online headline, “Climate Change Denialists Say Polar Bears Are Fine. Scientists Are Pushing Back.” The text box was bluntly biased even for the Times: “Researchers chastised a Canadian zoologist’s blog for its falsehoods.”

Dedicated tax-and-spend liberals often get help from the press in describing their plans to raid constituents' pocketbooks in vague terms, while nobly describing the alleged benefits of their plans to use the money.
