Humans despoiling the planet is a common liberal Hollywood trope for movies. Comic-Con 2018 just delivered two new trailers with environmentalist themes including a monster movie that calls humans “the infection.” The annual San Diego event, which took place July 19-22, is known for buzzworthy announcements for TV and movies, and trailer releases. This year’s trailers included Aquaman and Godzilla: King of the Monsters. A commonality of those upcoming movies was the “humans are devastating the planet” plot points.
Tech giant Google will help the United Nations track climate change data by sharing information from its environmental satellites.
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) announced July 16, that it was working with Google to create a platform that “aims to expand what the world knows about the impacts of human activity on global ecosystems.”

The Canadian federal government will intervene to save an oil pipeline expansion project in western Canada, after environmentalists took credit for stopping it with their protests.
EcoWatch and Canadian Press reported that environmental groups took an early victory lap when energy company Kinder Morgan Canada announced in April 2018, that it had temporarily halted its efforts to expand the Trans Mountain pipeline. The pipeline would carry oil from Alberta’s tar sands to a port in British Columbia — opening up export prospects.
In spite of recent media attempts to speculate about when the economy might experience another downturn, a recent survey of global businessmen found a majority anticipate the U.S. economy to remain strong over the the next three years. Zurich Insurance Group, EY, and the Atlantic Council surveyed 497 CFOs in 30 countries and found most of them confident about U.S. investment. The survey was ignored by ABC, CBS and NBC news programming between May 3 and 9, as well as The Washington Post, New York Times and USA Today, according to Nexis searches.
It isn’t news that The Washington Post often attacks the Trump administration and downplays good news regarding its policies. This is the same Jeff Bezos-owned publication where an editor praised Michelle Wolf’s White House Correspondents dinner jokes, that has blasted Trump’s tax cuts and promoted Trump critics.

Celebrity promotion of liberal views are predictable as death and taxes. But these days the media also take these opinions seriously, trying to turn absurdities into news. The latest example was the media frenzy over a Tweet from Sen. Bernie Sanders promoting 25 year old rapper Cardi B’s economic opinions. The rapper was already a fan of Sanders, having encouraged people to “Vote for Daddy Bernie” during the last Democratic primary.
When liberals and their media allies have an agenda to push, they’ll use any tool at hand. The left often rails against the presence of religion in civic life, mocking conservative Christians as “Taliban” agitating for theocracy. But other times, they find faith to be a handy weapon to bludgeon conservatives. And they’ll go so far as to reinterpret and rewrite the Bible to justify any liberal cause, no matter how outrageous.
In 2010, MSNBC anchor Melissa Harris-Perry summed up this strategy in her call for “re-imagining the Bible as a tool of progressive social change.” Huffington Post contributor Mike Lux embraced Harris-Perry’s advice, writing that the Bible embodies “all kinds” of “liberal, lefty, progressive values.”

'Tis the season for naughty Santa ads? A Samsung commercial showed Mrs. Claus displaying her naughty side.
Samsung cut an innuendo-laced a commercial for its Galaxy phone. The ad first shows a pair of elves excitedly telling Santa they made a video for him. Mrs. Claus shares the video with Santa simply by touching phones. Then Mrs. Claus says: “I also made you a video,” touches phones, then leans in and suggestively says: “but you probably shouldn’t watch it on the sleigh.” (The ad is a Christmas takeoff of an earlier ad featuring the exact same scenario.)
