In a repeat performance from last year, late night talk show host turned liberal political activist Jimmy Kimmel hosted The Oscars on March 4. Aired on ABC in prime time, the 90th Academy Awards show was so self-indulgent and stuffed with liberal propaganda, that it ran a full 50 minutes late.
What do food and Planned Parenthood have in common? More than you’d expect, according to Guardian columnist Jessica Valenti and Planned Parenthood president Cecile Richards. They’re connected, just like the #MeToo movement and abortion activists.
Planned Parenthood has always boasted close ties to the media – but not this close. A media figure is now in charge of finding the next president for America’s largest abortion provider. In a Wednesday press release, Planned Parenthood Federation of America announced that its president, Cecile Richards, would step down from her position in May. Board chair Naomi Aberly named those conducting the “search” to replace her “outstanding and dynamic leadership.”
Sunday’s New York Times carried reporter Amy Chozick’s exit interview with Cecile Richards, the retiring president of Planned Parenthood: “Planned Parenthood Chief, Exiting, Plans Her Next Move.” She led off with an unlikely anecdote from Richards making pro-lifers out as hypocrites and the leader of America’s largest abortion mill as an advocate for women’s health care.
As the news breaks that Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards is reportedly stepping down from her position, many in the media took the opportunity to celebrate her legacy – and to hope that she runs for office. On Wednesday, sources revealed to Buzzfeed that Richards plans to leave Planned Parenthood after serving as president since 2006. In reaction to the report, media outlets from Jezebel to Elle magazine praised Richard’s and hoped her departure meant a future career in politics.
As the media race to share the news that Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards is reportedly stepping down, only conservative outlets appear to be including the pro-life reaction. On Wednesday, after sources revealed to Buzzfeed that Richards plans to leave Planned Parenthood after serving as president since 2006, pro-life leaders released statements to the press. They noted the “trail of misery” “this most devoted practitioner” of abortion leaves.
The ties between the media and the abortion industry go deep. For proof, look no further than the 280 awards Planned Parenthood has bestowed upon the media – including 10 this year. On Monday, America’s largest abortion provider handed out “Media Excellence Awards” to 10 journalists and outlets that promote or defend its agenda. Planned Parenthood admitted on Twitter that it chose the 45th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the 1973 Supreme Court case that legalized abortion in the U.S., on purpose to celebrate “journalists, outlets & activists who are committed to advancing the cause of reproductive health, rights & freedom.”
C’mon white ladies, get woke! You can’t leave it to your sisters of color to drag your pasty butts into the promised land of free sex changes, condoms for elderly nuns and legal abortion until Tee Ball.
As the pro-life movement prepares for the 45th annual March for Life, here’s a number the liberal media are unlikely to report: Planned Parenthood has committed 7.6 million abortions since Roe vs. Wade. Over the holiday weekend, America’s largest abortion provider released its 2016 – 2017 annual report. According to that report and former ones (plus numbers supplied by pro-life groups), Planned Parenthood has been responsible for the death of more than 7.6 million babies, from 1973 through 2017.
You wouldn’t expect the president of Ford to talk up Chrysler models, so you can’t expect the head of America’s largest abortion provider (and contraception distributor) to give the nod to “Natural Family Planning” -- or, rather, what she thinks is Natural Family Planning.
Award shows have now become recruiting grounds for liberals. At the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, on November 13, people like Rep. Maxine Waters (D-California) and Samantha Bee got to tell the “hundreds of high school girls” in the audience just how they felt about Trump and his administration. Waters tried to tell the audience to “join progressive organizations” and ended her awards acceptance speech with an attempt to start an “Impeach him” chant.
Hollywood has priorities: hate on Trump, stay politically relevant, and look good. If the most liberal of them are freaking out about a GOP bill, something good must be happening.
So it should come as no surprise that while the GOP tries to push Obamacare Repeal, Tinseltown’s brightest come to the rescue with some interesting tweets to protest. Jim Carrey shared a picture of a hurricane swirling around Republican Congressmen, with the caption, “While another storm heads r way, craven republican sock puppets in service of shameless greed, try AGAIN 2 ravage healthcare. #sickening.”
