While the elitist media continue their attacks and slurs on hard-working ICE agents, they have ignored the almost daily cases of illegal immigrants committing terrible crimes.
On September 16, family members of victims of illegal immigrants blasted Democratic lawmakers for their sanctuary city policies that have led to the deaths of their loved ones.
The refusal of the leftist media to report on these cases has pushed their narrative that the Trump administration’s increased immigration enforcement is an “authoritarian” overreach, instead of a necessary response to the lax Obama-Biden years.
The broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) have repeatedly failed to cover these heinous crimes, as documented in previous studies by NewsBusters. (See our most recent studies here and here).
In just the last three weeks (August 25 - September 17), we’ve seen seven new cases (mostly involving Biden and Obama-era illegals) who have committed horrific crimes. Three of these occurred in the Northern Virginia backyard of Washington, D.C.-based journalists.
The following is a look at these latest crimes by illegal immigrants and how the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC) have refused to cover them on their evening and morning news programs:

On September 11, the New York Post reported:
California’s sanctuary city laws prevented local Sacramento police from alerting federal immigration officials that a killer illegal migrant was stalking a waitress and should be thrown out of the country.
Shalini Thakur, 38, was brutally executed in Sacramento on Tuesday by Rohit Rohit, 22 — despite her filing a restraining order in May against the crazed DoorDash delivery driver who’d subjected her to a year-long campaign of terror.
Despite Rohit violated the order in July, cops didn’t call ICE, because woke California laws adopted in 2017 prohibit communication with immigration authorities, even in cases where it could help keep communities safer, Los Angeles’s top federal prosecutor Bill Essayli confirmed.
Rohit was caught by Border Patrol sneaking over the Mexican border in August 2023 so was known to the feds.

On September 5, the New York Post reported:
The unlicensed driver who crashed into a New Jersey family in a grocery store parking lot — killing a 9-month-old boy and injuring his mother and sister — and the car’s owner are both illegal immigrants who ICE is now seeking to deport, officials said.
María Cobon-Guzmán, 20, a Guatemalan national living in Trenton, was charged Tuesday with five counts including manslaughter after she struck and killed Yitzchok Rosenberg on Aug. 28, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. She has never held a driver’s license, investigators said.
Ariadna Lazaro-Flores, 22, a Mexican national living in Toms River, was charged with knowingly creating a substantial risk of death for letting Cobon-Guzmán drive. Ocean County Jail records show US Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainers filed against both women. Judge Kimarie Rahill denied them both bail.
Cobon-Guzmán was behind the wheel of a Ford Fusion when she slammed into Golda Chana, who was pushing Yitzchok in a stroller, and her 5-year-old daughter, according to VIN News.
All three victims were transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where Yitzchok died.
A Department of Homeland Security official told Fox News Digital that Cobon-Guzmán and Lazaro-Flores crossed the US-Mexico border illegally during the Biden administration.
Lazaro-Flores did so on five occasions in October 2023 and was removed from the country each time.

Illegal Immigrant Crashes Into NJ Mayor’s Wife’s Car, After Fleeing ICE Agents
On September 12, the New York Post reported:
Democratic New Jersey Gov. Mikie Sherrill’s is getting blasted for her state’s “sanctuary” policies after an illegal immigrant driver fleeing a stop by Immigration and Customs Enforcement crashed into and injured a local mayor’s wife.
“This is just the latest in a long line of traffic incidents and vehicular incidents that wouldn’t occur if New Jersey didn’t have our sanctuary status that got codified as soon as Gov. Sherrill came into office,” Republican Assemblyman Paul Kanitra told Fox News Digital.
“We all fought against it. We told them that this would create chaos, and it seems like Democrats are unable to take accountability for their own actions,” the Point Pleasant Beach lawmaker added.
The broadside came after ICE officers conducted a targeted operation involving the driver of an Acura on Route 130 in North Brunswick on Sept. 2.
ICE said they believed the driver to be an illegal immigrant, and he refused orders to get out of the vehicle before officers attempted to remove him.
He then sped away and ran a red light before colliding with a Tesla driven by Dr. Penelope Cohen, wife of East Brunswick Mayor Brad Cohen, according to local accounts. Penelope Cohen suffered a leg injury and was taken to the hospital, News 12 New Jersey reported. The Acura driver fled on foot before ICE officers apprehended him shortly afterward.
The driver has not been publicly identified. ICE said he was arrested for violating US immigration law and would remain in custody pending removal proceedings.

Biden-Era Illegal Immigrant Strangles Massachusetts Woman

On September 2, the New York Post reported:
Federal authorities say they arrested an illegal immigrant accused of strangling a woman to death inside her Massachusetts home on Tuesday.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement say Flavio Alcantara Dias, 43, is an illegal immigrant from Brazil who was released into the US under former President Joe Biden’s administration, despite previous arrests for DUI and aggravated assault.
“Alcantara Dias illegally entered the United States in April 2019. In October 2024, an immigration judge granted Alcantara Dias’ motion to terminate his immigration hearings based on a technicality, bringing his immigration case to an end despite his criminal history and unlawful presence in the United States. He was then released into the country by the Biden administration,” the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement.…Middlesex County Assistant District Attorney Thomas Brandt recounted a 911 call Dias made after an altercation with the 33-year-old Brianna Connolly in her home last week.
“He states very clearly, ‘Can I have police? A homicide just happened here right now,’” Brandt told the courtroom, according to Boston 25 News. “He then states, ‘I ended up killing a woman by mistake.’ He says, ‘I went crazy and suffocated her later on, says that he strangled her,’” Brandt said, noting that Dias had been speaking Portuguese.
Brandt said Dias had told police on the call that he and Connolly had been doing drugs inside her home and got into an argument because he wanted to have sex and she did not. Dias claimed he fell asleep and woke up to find Connolly not breathing. Brandt added that police observed that Connolly had “blood marks on her forehead and also on the back of her head,” in addition to a “fabric-y cord around her neck.”

Biden-Era Illegal Immigrant Stabbed Co-Worker to Death in VA
A 19-year-old illegal immigrant has been arrested after a woman was found stabbed to death and doused in gasoline near her car in Great Falls earlier this week.
Fairfax County police said detectives arrested Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, 19, in connection with the homicide of… pic.twitter.com/XOcmG6qyJk— 7News DC (@7NewsDC) August 19, 2026
On September 2, the New York Post reported:
The Salvadoran illegal immigrant accused of brutally stabbing his co-worker near a Virginia trail allegedly killed her after she exposed their affair to his girlfriend, a witness who worked with the pair told the police.
Fairfax County prosecutors told the court Monday that a witness, identified as a co-worker, told police Alexis Antonio Cedillos-Campos, 19, expressed his intent to kill Carmen Lizet Puch after she sent his girlfriend screenshots proving they were having an affair, according to a criminal complaint obtained by WJLA.
The co-worker claimed that Cedillos-Campos grabbed a kitchen knife, latex gloves and a water bottle from the restaurant before heading to meet Puch in the parking lot of Difficult Run Park in Great Falls, about 15 miles outside Washington, DC, on Aug. 17.
Around 1:30 a.m., the co-worker overheard Cedillos-Campos arrange the meeting with Puch by phone. Then at around 4 a.m., Cedillos-Campos allegedly called the co-worker where he admitted that “he did it” before hanging up — which they interpreted to mean he had killed Puch, according to the complaint.
Puch — described by officials as a “loving mother of a 3-year-old girl” — was later found stabbed multiple times and drenched in gasoline, discovered by a jogger who called 911 after finding her lying next to her 2011 Honda Civic in a small gravel parking lot near the trail.
Investigators believe Cedillos-Campos siphoned gas from a motorcycle and filled the water bottle in a failed attempt to set her body on fire after stabbing her “repeatedly,” according to Fairfax County Police Chief Kevin Davis.
“We have video footage of our suspect at the restaurant where he worked with our victim, arming himself with a fixed blade knife, taking a pair of black latex gloves, taking a water bottle, and then off he goes with the intent to do harm and kill the victim,” Davis said. Investigators also found that Cedillos-Campos and Puch worked together at Bitez restaurant — a Halal-focused eatery in Herndon, Va. — and determined the two had been in an “intimate relationship” before the killing.
Cedillos-Campos was arrested in Prince George’s County on Aug. 19. He allegedly tried to run from officers when police confronted him, prosecutors said, according to WUSA 9.
Davis said Cedillos-Campos confessed to the killing after his arrest and described his actions as “very premeditated.”…Following his arrest, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed that Cedillos-Campos had been detained by Border Patrol agents in April 2024 after he illegally crossed into the US near El Paso, Texas, during the Biden administration. He was taken into custody by Customs and Border Protection but later released — and had been living in the US ever since.

Three Obama-Era Illegals Arrested In VA Child Exploitation Ring, Released on Bond
On August 28, the New York Post reported:
Three of nine men arrested in a Virginia child exploitation sting are illegal aliens with lengthy criminal histories, the Department of Homeland Security confirmed to Fox News. The three men have since been released on bond.
The suspects allegedly traveled to Fairfax County to meet with minors for sexual encounters after engaging in sexually explicit conversations online with undercover detectives posing as juveniles, police said Wednesday.
The three illegal aliens were identified as Reyben Leono Sanchez Hernandez, 21, of El Salvador; Wilmer Alexander Aguilar Cruz, 28, of El Salvador; and Henry Adalberto Flores Herrera, 39, DHS told Fox News.
DHS said the three men were previously caught illegally entering the US before being released during the Obama administration.
DHS blamed the administration’s immigration policies and Fairfax County’s “sanctuary” policies for what it described as an influx of criminal illegal aliens.
DHS said the three men were previously caught illegally entering the US before being released during the Obama administration. DHS blamed the administration’s immigration policies and Fairfax County’s “sanctuary” policies for what it described as an influx of criminal illegal aliens.
His criminal history includes allegations involving computer solicitation of a child, indecent liberties, proposed sex acts, sodomy, extortion and threats to burn, DHS said.
On April 27, 2019, police in Prince William County, Virginia, arrested Aguilar Cruz on charges of threatening to bomb or burn and making a threat in writing. ICE arrested him two days later, and he was released on bond on Aug. 9, 2019, according to DHS.
ICE placed a detainer on Aguilar Cruz with the Fairfax County Detention Center July 31, officials said. However, local police said he has since been released on $3,000 secured bond.
Flores Herrera’s criminal history includes felony solicitation of prostitution from a minor, sexual exploitation of a minor, driving under the influence of liquor and a traffic offense, according to DHS. ICE placed a detainer on Flores Herrera with the Fairfax County Detention Center July 17, officials said. He has since been released on $5,000 secured bond. DHS did not disclose how Flores Herrera entered the country.

Fentanyl-Dealing Illegal Immigrant Linked to VA High School Overdoses
On August 25, the New York Post reported:
An illegal immigrant from El Salvador who has faced a final deportation order since 2024 was caught and later released on bond at the Texas border in 2016 before his arrest last week for allegedly dealing fentanyl near a Virginia high school, according to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
Isaac Melendez-Carranza, 31, was arrested Aug. 20 and charged with distributing fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a school. He is being held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center. “ICE lodged a detainer on August 20 for Isaac Melendez-Carranza, an illegal alien from El Salvador, with the Loudoun County Jail,” a DHS spokesperson told Fox News.
An immigration judge issued Melendez-Carranza a final order of removal on July 18, 2024, according to DHS.
Melendez-Carranza was encountered in Sterling, Virginia, less than a month later, on Aug. 16, 2024, but no action was taken, DHS said.
The department cited the Biden administration for the lack of action. US Border Patrol arrested Melendez-Carranza near Hebbronville, Texas, on May 3, 2016, after he illegally entered the US via the Rio Grande, according to DHS. He was released on bond on July 13, 2016, the department said.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office identified Melendez-Carranza as a suspected drug dealer connected to overdoses involving Park View High School students in May.
Deputies seized about 100 pills and approximately $1,000 in cash during a search of his home, FOX 5 DC reported. Multiple students had been hospitalized following suspected overdoses at Park View High School in May, the outlet said. Loudoun County Public Schools confirmed at the time that two students suffered nonfatal suspected overdoses during school hours.
