Having exorcised the White house of the demon Trump, you might think legacy media would ease up, tack toward the middle and tone down the “woke” hysteria. If the Washington Post and the Los Angeles Times are indicators, forget it.

Several big name publications have decided to go on the defensive for a Netflix movie that hypersexualizes little girls. And to think, some of us are unsure about calling the media the “enemy of the people.”

On September 1, NBC premiered the “Pilot” of Transplant, which had been the most-watched television series for the 2019-2020 season when it aired in Canada. The title is a play on words, as transplant is not only a medical term, but applies to the main character, Bashir Hamed (Hamza Haq), a doctor from Syria who is a refugee in Canada.

Trevor Noah's tenure as host of The Daily Show on Comedy Central is nearing five years, so they're reaching out for the expected positive publicity from the liberal media. Gone With the Wind is gone from HBO Max's video library after the classic film was effectively "cancelled" in today's racial climate. On Monday, 12 Years a Slave screenwriter John Ridley wrote an op-ed in the Los Angeles Times calling for HBO Max to remove Gone With the Wind from its library because it “glorifies the antebellum south,” “ignore[s] the horrors of slavery." 

A liberal newspaper admitted the public health costs the virus-induced global economic disaster could have on the global population and how its effects could likely outpunch the coronavirus itself. “The economic devastation wrought by the pandemic could ultimately kill more people than the virus itself,” The Los Angeles Times admitted.
