In a rare moment of truth-telling on CNN Sunday, New York Times Opinion staff writer and editor Bari Weiss openly admitted to the Reliable Sources panel that the media was purposely ignoring the blatant anti-Semitism espoused by Democratic Congresswomen Ilhan Omar (MN) and Rashida Tlaib (MI) because of President Trump.

On Friday's Real Time show on HBO, liberal host Bill Maher called out both anti-Israel liberals and the media for ignoring the deeply embedded anti-Semitism in the Middle East that has thwarted attempts to make a peace agreement between Israel and Palestinian Arabs.

Barely a week after the premiere of Amazon’s The Boys, we’re back to the same ultra-violence, gore, and blasphemy from the same twisted minds behind AMC’s Preacher. Fortunately, this is the final season of Preacher, so unlike The Boys, this should be the last we hear from this show. Unfortunately, we still have to get through this awful season.

If there's one amazingly bad take on the Democrats in 2019, it's the idea that they're somehow not secular, and appeal to a strong base of secularists. Mark Shields used old examples to argue "I think there is a strong spiritual, almost religious chord to the Democratic story."

Hulu's Four Weddings and a Funeral tv adaptation is...odd. Co-created by Richard Curtis, who created the original movie, and Mindy Kaling (The Mindy Project), I had high hopes that this team could deliver a heartfelt, funny comedy that either left out the politics or was somewhat balanced. Instead, Republicans and conservatives are overtly insulted and mocked.

In a shameful display Monday night, CNN host Don Lemon viciously attacked his guest, Pastor Bill Owens, for daring to meet with President Trump. Lemon progressively got nastier with his antagonistic questioning when Owens wouldn’t call the President, racist. Lemon even went so far as to attack the pastor’s Christian faith and character.

Amazon Prime’s latest series The Boys is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Garth Ennis, the same writer behind Preacher. The show is also produced by Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogan, who helped to develop the Preacher television series. So is it safe to say that The Boys is just as raunchy, gory, and sacrilegiously irreverent as Preacher? Sadly, it may be much worse.

In a segment dubbed “could it happen here”, Deutsch again played around with the idea that Trump was constructing Nazi Germany in our own backyards. “During last week's show two days after Trump's harrowing North Carolina rally, lowlighted by racial chants of ‘send her back’, we posed the question: Could it happen here? On Thursday, CNN photo editor Mohammed Elshamy was exposed as an anti-Semite after numerous political operatives and news outlets dove into his Twitter history and discovered his hatred. Elshamy has since made his Twitter account private.

On July 11th, Huffington Post Highline published an article by Eve Fairbanks about the dramatic rise in millennial nuns. Given The Huff Post’s lefty bent, you would expect the article to be derisive of young conservative women who choose a religious life. Shock: the tone was respectful, appreciating the role of religion in a spiritually-starved secular world. 

Twitter has not only blocked the Rev. Louis Farrakhan from posting temporarily, it has also added more rules to its hate speech policies. The social media company announced a new update in a July 9 blog post that banned “dehumanizing language” against others “on the basis of religion.”
