OWN’s Greenleaf, a drama that centers around mega-church Calvary World Ministries and the family who runs it (the Greenleafs), has featured the story of husband Kevin Saterlee (Tye White) and his struggle with gay desires since last season.

CBS’s Superior Donuts has had its fair share of race-baiting, anti-police bias, and other clearly questionable opinions over the past season. Fortunately, this week’s episode gave viewers a quick grab bag of several questionable, off-putting, and just plain wrong moments for the whole family.

Forgiving a friend is one thing. Forgiving your spouse’s cold-blooded killer on a televised news program is another. After losing her husband, Naseem, in Egypt’s Palm Sunday bombings, Samira Fahmi had every reason to despise ISIS. The terrorist group not only took the life of her partner in church on a holy day, but killed or injured more than 100 others in her Coptic Christian community. 

If you’re a conservative who cringes whenever the Hollywood left sneaks political punches into movies and shows, brace yourself for the brand-new Netflix original series Girlboss, which premiered April 21.

Hulu’s new show Harlots has been hard to stomach from the start. Both for its sexual depravity and raw, gritty depiction of the underbelly of the world of prostitution in 1700’s London. This is not a “pretty” version of the life of harlots, if there ever could be one.

Although many media outlets have given Hobby Lobby a bad rap for its Christian values, Forbes today offered a refreshingly balanced look at what it means to be Christian company. And it’s not, as contributor Jerry Bowyer wrote, a “greed or misogyny thing”—it’s a “conscience thing.”   

Despite hopes that he would break with political precedent, Donald Trump failed to call the Armenian Genocide by name in today's commemoration of the atrocity. As the descendent of Armenian immigrants, I’m beyond disappointed. When government and media fail to label genocide with the “g-word,” it minimizes the calculating nature of the act. Sadly, there has been a trend in this direction.

On Wednesday, the Supreme Court of the United States heard the oral argument for the controversial Trinity Lutheran Church v. Comer. Well, TBS’s The Detour is at it again. The April 18th episode, “The Trip,” continued the show’s utter contempt for anything to do with Christianity or Christian values. With other issues, the show has done a hit and run, keeping the mockery to one episode and then moving on to other targets.

As part of its coverage on the deadly Tuesday shooting at a number of Fresno, California locations (including a Catholic charities building), the Associated Press (AP) Twitter account went into full spin mode on behalf of the alleged Muslim shooter, claiming in a tweet that he “shouted ‘God is great’ before killings” instead of, you know, Allahu Akbar.

CBS This Morning on Tuesday did the bidding of the ACLU and expressed concern over an Alabama mega church lobbying to have its own police force. Showing a clueless attitude in the wake of the 2015 Charleston church shooting, reporter David Begnaud asked Greg Garrison of AL.com: “Why can't they just rely on 911 and call for help if they need it?” 

An April 10 Rolling Stone article featured an interview with Dr. Willie Parker, an abortionist who identifies as a Christian. Parker’s recently released book is titled “Life’s Work: A Moral Argument for Choice” and was ghostwritten by Lisa Miller according to NYMag.com.  

CNN’s John Berman on Monday promoted a bizarre conspiracy theory as to why Ivanka Trump and her husband Jered Kushner were not visible at Monday’s Easter Egg roll: He theorized it had something to do with the couple being Jewish.
