March 11th, 2019 5:19 PM
CBS This Morning co-host John Dickerson on Monday worried that Joe Biden would be too moderate in tone as a presidential candidate, describing the Democrat as a “let us reason together” politician. This, of course, is the same Democrat who had an American Conservative Union score of 12 and who savaged conservative Supreme Court nominee Robert Bork in 1987. Question: What is more cringe-inducing than a celebrity funeral? Answer: Two back-to-back celebrity funerals. The ghoulish twin spectacles last week memorializing Aretha Franklin and John McCain brought out the worst in family, friends and frenemies. No matter your partisan affiliation, these vulgar exercises in self-indulgence should serve as object lessons on how not to depart with dignity.
