During an interview with CBS This Morning co-host Norah O’Donnell at The Connecticut Forum Thursday night, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer warned against cameras being allowed in the courtroom, saying the media would take Justices and lawyers out of context if there was a video recording of oral arguments in the high court.

All three networks on Thursday hailed the life of “American icon” Hugh Hefner, honoring the “beautiful ending” for the pornographer. CBS also made sure to tout the “progressive politics” of the magazine and support for abortion. In total, ABC, CBS and NBC devoted 27 minutes and three seconds to cheering “one of the most influential figures in social history.” All three networks led with Hefner…

As they so often do, Wednesday’s network morning shows all read from the same script of liberal talking points as hosts and correspondents warned viewers that “ultra-conservative” candidate Roy Moore was a “staunch conservative” who won Alabama’s Senate primary despite his “extreme conservative views.” Did they mention he was “extremely conservative”?

CBS This Morning co-host Charlie Rose on Wednesday gushed over “one of my favorite people,” Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Of course, Rose never mentioned the Supreme Court Justice’s extreme liberal ideology. Instead, he peppered her on just how much sexism Hillary Clinton faced in 2016.

In the wake of the latest NFL protests, CBS journalist James Brown on Monday praised Colin Kaepernick as a “bridge builder” and someone who deserves some “credit.” Brown appeared on CBS This Morning to cheer, “He's committed, he's put his money where his mouth is. Nearly a million through community efforts to be a bridge builder.” 

The journalists at CBS This Morning, particularly Charlie Rose, are usually rather soft when it comes to high profile leaders, particularly Democrats. It’s not surprising that this rule didn’t hold for Mike Pence on Thursday. Rose grilled the Vice President on Iran and defended Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with the rogue country.  

Following President Trump’s forceful speech to the United Nations on Tuesday, Wednesday’s network morning shows all rushed to find Democrats like Hillary Clinton and Leon Panetta to blast the address as “dangerous,” “out of place” and a push to “threaten war.”  

All three networks on Wednesday grilled United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley about Donald Trump’s “threatening” language to North Korea, wondering if the President’s speech was “appropriate.” But it was CBS This Morning co-host Gayle King who twisted the English language to worry about how the talk would impact the “President of North Korea.” 

Having Sean Spicer appear on the Emmys may be offensive, but the journalists at CBS This Morning loved the “great” award show for mocking “recurring punch line” Donald Trump. Trying to spin the event as somehow just general political comedy, Gayle King hailed, “Television’s biggest night was infused with politics and references to the President.”

Two out of the three networks on Thursday night and Friday morning yawned at Amazon’s BLATANT censorship of negative reviews for Hillary Clinton’s new book, What Happened. Only CBS This Morning noticed  — with a scant 27 seconds of coverage — that the website is wiping out one star reviews. 

One theme of Hillary Clinton’s book tour is that news media bias helped tip the election in favor of Donald Trump, but no reasonable person could suggest that political reporters created a landscape more favorable to Trump than to her. And it’s silly of her to say the news media were one of the causes of her defeat.

The journalists at CBS This Morning on Thursday hyped a potential DACA deal between Donald Trump and Chuck Schumer as a “clean” plan in comparison to all the “messy” GOP options. Time for another edition of Name That Party! Seattle’s liberal Democrat Mayor Ed Murray resigned on Tuesday after five people accused him of sex abuse. Unsurprisingly, CBS and PBS avoided identifying the progressive politician as a Democrat. Today co-host Savannah Guthrie, however described him as a “Democrat” and “vocal critic of Donald Trump.”
