What’s more important? A staff member for a Republican senator apparently “liking” a pornographic tweet on Twitter or a Democratic senator on trial for bribery and corruption, facing possible resignation and years in prison? If you answered with the first option, then you might work for NBC News. 

As Hurricane Irma coverage dominated network news coverage on Monday, it was inevitable that the journalists would embrace climate change during the reporting. Both ABC’s Good Morning America and CBS This Morning suggested that Hurricanes Harvey and Irma prove global warming. 

The journalists at CBS This Morning, Monday, made sure to label a “right-wing” protest, but offered no such characterization for Antifa at a rally in which smoke bombs were thrown at the police. On a day mostly filled with hurricane coverage, CBS This Morning on Friday managed to shove in some liberal bias. The co-hosts eagerly hyped Harvard University’s president and her denouncement of Donald Trump over the “cruel” end of DACA. Charlie Rose breathlessly related, “President Trump's decision affects dozens of current Harvard students.” 

Thursday night, late night comedians on CBS took special aim at former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon, in preparation for his interview airing Sunday on the same network with anchor Charlie Rose. While ABC and NBC on Wednesday continued their silence on the bribery trial of Democratic Senator Bob Menendez, CBS This Morning allowed a scant 22 seconds. This was the first time all year CBS even mentioned the scandal swirling around the New Jersey politician. ABC and NBC haven’t touched the impending trial all year. 

After helping sell President Obama’s unilateral executive overreach on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) in 2012 and 2014, on Wednesday morning, the broadcast networks eagerly promoted the former president blasting the Trump administration’s “cruel” plan to end the policy.

On Tuesday, hours before the Trump administration announced a gradual end to the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) immigration executive order implemented by President Obama, the network morning shows feared the “immigration battle” to come while promoting the “blue-state backlash” as left-wing activists took to the streets in protest.

Conclusion first, facts second. That, allegedly, was the mentality of ex-FBI Director James Comey in dealing with Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal. Yet this revelation was ignored by ABC, CBS and NBC on Thursday and Friday. Comey, who was fired by Donald Trump in May, decided in 2016 against criminal charges of Hillary Clinton before 17 interviews of witnesses were complete.

The same network that was, just days ago, wondering if the President would be disruptive by visiting flooded areas is now criticizing him for not visiting flooded areas. CBS This Morning on Tuesday devoted two segments to hammering Donald Trump on Hurricane Harvey, wondering if the storm will derail his fall plans on taxes, building a wall and for any plans he had on ending the so-called Dreamer program. Additionally, the journalists again hit the President for visiting Texas too soon. 

In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, George W. Bush was hammered in the press for flying over New Orleans and not visiting. On Monday’s CBS This Morning, Gayle King wondered if Donald Trump was being too attentive and if this was the “best time” to visit the disaster area.
