Anti-Religious Bias

As viewers know from watching any number of producer Dick Wolf’s television programs, an episode will provide a glimpse of the suspect’s life, which can say a lot. When the FBI: Most Wanted team entered a pedophile's house on Tuesday, it was chock full of religious items, implying it was his strict religious upbringing that turned him into a monster.

The nation’s Spanish-language media have predictably omitted any coverage of Senator Marco Rubio’s recent searing indictment of both Latino identity politics and Xavier Becerra’s nomination to lead the Department of Health and Human Services.

On CNN's New Day, co-host Alisyn Camerota let Dem Rep. Marie Newman skate. Newman, a sponsor of the "Equality Act," says it is a "red herring" to claim it would permit biological males to compete in sports against women.  Newman claimed the Act had "nothing to do" with that issue, which is false. But Camerota failed to challenge her, warmly thanking her for appearing.

NBC has had a rough February, particularly when it comes to the anti-Semitism angle. The February 9 episode of Nurses, “Achilles Heel,” was pulled from digital platforms for its offensive portrayal of Orthodox Jews. The episode, along with the rest of the first season, already aired in Canada last year.

Another week, another offensive storyline from the -ish franchise. This time, the award goes to mixed-ish, once again. And this time, it’s surprisingly not about race, but about anti-Christian and anti-Bible bigotry, as lead character Paul (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) calls God “some man on a cloud,” and the Bible an “insane” “magic book.”

No one trusts Hollywood political opinions anymore. They're vapid, self-aggrandizing and seem singularly devoted to insulting good and honest Americans. We know. But still, in order to convince the few stragglers to stop opening up their Twitter and pondering the latest hot take from their favorite actor, we have a doozy of a Sean Penn tweet that should break that spell.

As an anti-Christian bigot, Bill Maher makes no partisan distinction among Christians. He’s an equal opportunity discriminator. 

Joe Biden, the so-called “devout Catholic,” is doing his best for the country and Holy Mother Church by completely rending the fifth commandment in his post inauguration flurry of executive orders. Conservatives and pro-lifers on social media decried Biden’s decision to revoke the Mexico City Policy, which will free U.S. dollars to fund abortion in other countries.

Vice’s latest anti-life piece is proof that last week’s Capitol riot is a one-smear-fits-all bad PR event being used by the left to condemn all of its political enemies.

Considering 2020’s hatred of Christianity, it makes sense that 2021 begins with a totally illiterate perspective of Christianity. HBO’s Spanish drama 30 Coins brings back the classic myth of the Gospel of Judas to poison our screens once again. Much like The Da Vinci Code, this story never seems to die.

In the media’s mission to associate literally everyone and their Bible-thumping grandmothers with “terrorist” attacks at the Capitol Building from this past Wednesday, outlets are beginning to blame the violent actions of a vast minority of a Trump rally-attending crowd on pro-Trump Christians in general.

Yet again, CNN host Chris Cuomo was given license from his network to attack a Republican’s faith on Monday’s CNN Tonight. This time the target for the CNN host’s anti-Christian bigotry was Florida Senator Marco Rubio.

Christmas may be over, but the hatred for Christianity still lives on in television. HBO’s anti-religious series His Dark Materials brings on (hopefully) 2020’s final salute to atheism with a stand against the “deceit, intolerance, and prejudice” of God in the name of “understanding, truth, and acceptance.” Only a show like this could think atheists exclusively hold those virtues.
