There are plenty of winners & losers this summer when it comes to the entertainment industry. But only two winners and two losers make the cut when it comes to columns like this. And the following list features the topics that have made the cut so far this summer.

When a film crashes at the box office a curious phenomenon take place. And quickly, mind you. Hollywood news sites pounce, detailing why the film in question tanked in the first place. Insiders who might have stayed quiet had the movie thrived all of a sudden have plenty to say.

Movie criticism ain’t what it used to be. Film critics once served audiences by telling them if a movie was worth their hard-earned cash. Some critics still cling to that approach.Others use their forums to promote their ideological agendas. And, since the vast majority of film critics lean left, the results are predictably woke.

Disney CEO Bob Iger has weighed in on Georgia’s “Heartbeat Bill,” threatening to pull the company’s film productions from the state if Governor Kemp’s Bill goes into law. This year’s Cannes Film Festival in France opened with a new Jim Jarmusch movie from Focus Features (owned by the reliably liberal NBC Universal) called The Dead Don’t Die, filled with in-your-face attacks on Republicans, conservatives, and people/states who vote for them. The plot is spurred by an environmental apocalypse caused by "polar fracking."

Hollywood’s hot new trend is to boycott the entire state of Georgia because Governor Brian Kemp signed a bill making it harder to kill unborn babies.
