First they came for the statues, now they are coming for the national anthem. The left wants to rip the virtue of patriotism from the public eye. For some progressives, it isn’t enough that NFL players use the anthem for their protest. The anthem itself is a problem. On Sunday, on MSNBC Live with Thomas Roberts, actor Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy) expressed his opinion on Trump, the national anthem, and the NFL. He believed that the NFL was owned by Trump supporters who were “close friends with a very horrible guy who thinks he’s a dictator.”
On Saturday, climate change again became a source of blame for Hurricane Harvey and its path of destruction along the Texas coastline as it moved inland where it has since dropped biblical-like amounts of flooding in the Houston area. Two hosts on CBS and MSNBC invoked climate change, without taking into account things like steering currents.
Appearing as a guest on Sunday's MSNBC Live, MSNBC political analyst Joan Walsh fretted over Ivanka Trump wearing a "girlie" dress while sitting in for President Donald Trump in a meeting of the G-20. The left-wing The Nation correspondent suggested that the dress made the President's daughter look like "property" -- reminiscent of "patriarchal, authoritarian societies" -- and bemoaned that Ivanka's behavior in the White House is "frightening."
After Tuesday’s NBC Nightly News falsely tried to frame a New York City subway derailment as a sign of “America’s aging infrastructure,” Wednesday’s Today acknowledged that the accident was actually due to “human error.” However, that correction did not stop correspondent Thomas Roberts from using the incident to attack President Trump’s proposed budget that would reduce Transportation Department spending.
In the wake of the London Bridge terrorist attack, President Trump sent off some questionable political tweets where he called for a travel ban and criticized the mayor of London. The tweets were very much a part of the media coverage on Sunday, and it came with heavy condemnation. But during the 12 p.m. hour on MSNBC, anchor Thomas Roberts actually suggested Trump’s tweets were designed to trigger a terrorist to attack civilians in the United States. And he did it, not once but twice.
President Trump is skipping this year’s White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner, but that hasn’t stopped the media from nevertheless hyping the event. At that same dinner on April 30, 2011, journalists thought it was hilarious when then-President Obama and comedian Seth Meyers lampooned Trump from the stage, while the billionaire businessman sat in the audience. The media loved it.
Amidst MSNBC’s day-long propaganda effort on Saturday for the Women’s March on Washington, correspondent Stephanie Gosk fawned over how the far-left participants “aren’t protesters” because “[t]hey’ve never protested before” and came “from all over the country, a lot of them with their children, with their daughters.”
On MSNBC Live October 31, Clinton surrogate James Carville got into a heated exchange with anchor Thomas Roberts over the renewed FBI investigation into Hillary Clinton’s e-mails. Carville, a staunch Clinton supporter, became angry at Roberts for not parroting his viewpoint that Republicans were trying to influence the election. From the get-go, Carville repeatedly made ludicrous claims about the “House Republicans” working with the “KGB” to threaten the FBI, in order to rig the election.
Right on cue with the conclusion of Thursday’s rally between Hillary Clinton and First Lady Michelle Obama, CNN and MSNBC went numb in praising Obama’s “master class in political speech-making” and marveling at “even just the embrace, the way the two walked out the embrace between the two, the clearly — the gratitude, the heaping of praise from, you know, Hillary Clinton to the First Lady.”
The Big Three's evening newscasts all devoted full reports on Friday to the FBI's release of its notes on their interview of Hillary Clinton over her e-mail scandal. However, ABC's Cecilia Vega stood out for spotlighting how "careless," as FBI Director James Comey put it, Mrs. Clinton was in her handling of classified material on her private e-mail server: "Just how careless? Investigators say 81 e-mail chains on Clinton's basement server contained classified information at the time they were sent; 68 of them remain classified to this day."
Along with the FBI doing its part for the Clinton campaign by dumping on the Friday afternoon of Labor Day weekend its notes from their interview of Hillary Clinton concerning her e-mail scandal, MSNBC swept some of the most disturbing elements under the rug in its first two segments on it and concluded that they’ve helped them see “a little bit better why Director Comey” didn’t recommend charges.
MSNBC's Thomas Roberts has repeatedly flaunted his liberal bias over the years, but he took it to a new level in a recent ad that celebrated the Supreme Court's 2015 decision legalizing same-sex "marriage." Roberts held up his hand with a ring on it, and gushed, "It's a victory — I've got the ring to prove it. Recognizing this is a constitutional right to Americans whether you're gay or straight is pretty fantastic....I kind of like what the Supreme Court did."
