Although Lena Dunham is no fan of Kellyanne Conway, she’s not here for digs at the presidential counselor’s appearance. In a series of tweets posted Sunday morning, the liberal writer/producer expressed the view that commenting on women’s looks doesn’t advance the conversation. 

A new Miss USA was crowned on Sunday night on FOX, but it wasn’t without some political controversy. Miss District of Columbia Kara McCullough won the title, much to the chagrin of liberals who didn’t like her conservative answers in the question rounds. Her thought crimes? Saying health care is a privilege, not a right, and rejecting man-hating feminism in favor of equal opportunity.

According to radical feminist Gloria Steinem, women will never be “fully equal” to men unless they have abortion rights. Oh, and the patriarchy’s to blame for climate change too. In an interview with Refinery29 writer Lindsey Stanberry, Steinem shared thoughts on feminism, and unsurprisingly, everything came back to female reproductive rights. 

Leave it to Lena Dunham to make weight loss political. After US Weekly used her photo in a story about “20 Slimdown Diet Tips Stars Are Using,” the liberal actress and writer—a noted critic of body-shaming and dieting—responded with some characteristic political snark. 

Incest. Prostitution. Brainless beauty. Liberal media people have accused the most prominent women in the Trump administration of these and more. Yet, hypocritically, feminists have been slow to defend Kellyanne Conway, Ivanka and Melania Trump against these blatantly sexist attacks. 

In the world of entertainment, if a single woman faces an unplanned pregnancy after sleeping with a man she barely knew and that man ends up dying and thus can’t help her support the baby, and her parents are “church people” who she fears may judge her, abortion is almost always the automatic answer given as a solution to her dilemma.
