TBS premiered their new sitcom The Guest Book on Thursday night and, in Story Two, portrayed two Christian characters as people willing to assault an atheist in order to force an unwanted baptism upon her. 

Jason Horowitz, the New York Times’ most showily left-wing political reporter, made common cause with a piece making the rounds of Catholic intellectual circles singling out “ultraconservative” Trump-supporting conservatives as dangerous, in “From the Vatican, a Warning Shot for Hard-Line Catholics in the U.S.”

We’re past the point for me to say AMC’s Preacher has jumped the shark in terms of Christianity, but that certainly doesn’t stop the show from trying. This latest episode just introduced a background for Jesus Christ so crazy that Dan Brown’s asking questions.

Well, I’ll say this about Spike’s The Mist, I was only half-right about my recent prediction. Instead of a molesting priest, we get the fanatic of a violent one threatening heretics. I would say that’s a pleasant surprise, but what we get is hardly a pleasant substitute. Come to think of it, it’s not even a surprise.

On Sunday's AM Joy, recurring MSNBC guest Lawrence Wilkerson used an anonymous quote to actually portray "the Jews" in Israel as being the "biggest enemy" of Christians "in the region" as the former Colin Powell aide accused right-leaning Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of trying to provoke Palestinian Arabs so that Israel can "react viciously and violently" against them.

Back in those ancient days when teletypes gave us the sound effects for news, the Associated Press was esteemed as the gold standard of objective news coverage. Inside a liberal media bubble, that pretense continues, but for decades now, the AP has tacked hard to port along with the rest of the media establishment. They’ll deny it, of course, because that’s what they do.

Season two of AMC’s Preacher has been relatively quiet if only for the fact that violence and crude behavior seem to be a weekly occurrence on the show. But now, the most recent episode gives us a reminder of about how staunchly anti-religious it can be by going after the Good Book itself: the Bible. Even in physical form, the Bible can’t catch a break.

Yet another media mogul has slammed religious freedom group Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) as an “anti-LGBTQ hate group” as it defends a Christian baker who refused to sell a cake for a gay couple’s wedding. This time, it was late-night talk show host Stephen Colbert.

ABC and NBC can’t seem to accept the consequences of their mistakes. Instead of focusing on the apology called for by the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF), the nets decided to cover Game of Thrones instead, calling it “the show so big it crashed the Internet.” In a statement to the MRC, ADF slammed the networks for “journalistic malpractice.”  

Religion in politics is seemingly so far removed from the media’s idea of normalcy that a picture of the President praying left one CNN anchor struggling to find words, Wednesday.  

On Wednesday, Filipino soldiers discovered seventeen bodies of civilians – five of them reportedly decapitated -- the latest in a string of casualties in the embattled town of Marawi. But the nets didn’t report the news; in fact, although the ISIS-inspired terrorism gripping Marawi – and targeted especially at Christians – began five weeks ago, the network news shows have spent a total of only 25…

Netflix premiered its new original show GLOW on Friday, June 23. GLOW stands for “Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling,” and though the show is inspired by the real-life GLOW from the 80’s, the fictionalized version differs greatly from the original.

Discrimination or religious liberty? That was what ABC’s The View was trying to decide about an upcoming Supreme Court case involving a Christian baker’s refusal to participate in gay weddings. The debate resulted in a comment that was strange even for The View.
