As the contentious Florida gubernatorial and U.S. Senate races moved on to a mandatory machine recount, they do so under a cloud corruption as Democratic election officials were accused of voter fraud and other forms of misconduct. Despite the fact that Florida courts had already ruled twice against Democrats, ABC’s and NBC’s Sunday morning new programs ignored the orders for transparency. The networks preferred to keep the truth hidden.
During Friday’s Morning Joe, the panel repeatedly mocked the concern of Florida Senate candidate and current Governor Rick Scott, Senator Marco Rubio, and President Trump about Scott’s shrinking lead in the Florida Senate race as a result of votes coming in from Broward County well after Election Day. The panel neglected to mention that Florida law mandates that the results of mail ballots be announced thirty minutes after the polls closed; the heavily Democratic Broward County, which has a long history of mismanaging elections, failed to comply with the law.
On Saturday's AM Joy, MSNBC host Joy Reid was again pushing discredited accusations that Georgia Democratic gubernatorial nominee Stacey Abrams was undermined by "voter suppression" by Georgia Secretary of State and GOP gubernatorial nominee Brian Kemp as she also wrongly claimed that Abrams had been "well ahead" in the polls before Election Day when Kemp, in fact, had usually been slightly ahead.
On her MSNBC show today, discussing Republican criticism of Broward Election Supervisor Brenda Snipes, Joy Reid says: "here is the way they are treating Brenda Snipes, who is the long-time Election Supervisor there, who by the way is an older black woman in the Deep South."
MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle and one of her guests on Friday jumped into conspiracy theory territory while discussing the post-election gubernatorial fight in Georgia. At one point, she lectured Republican Brian Kemp, who appears to have emerged victorious, “Please win fair and square, Brian Kemp.”
We are about to find out whether Democrats meant it when they lamented the loss of civility in Washington. Having won the majority in the House of Representatives in Tuesday's election, will they cooperate with Republicans and "reach across the aisle," or will they pander to their base, which wants President Trump's blood? Guess which scenario I'm betting on Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), who will likely head the Financial Services Committee, has promised to seek revenge on the banks, which she notes loaned money to people in the '90s so they could buy houses they couldn't afford.
It happens all too often these days in Tinseltown. A studio spends a gazillion dollars on the CGI-est spandex simulations and atomic death ray explosions in the latest installment of Mission Impossible 9: Batman Punches The Death Star, only to see it’s surefire summer blockbuster bring in B Movie-level receipts.
As seen in the mashup, Morning Joe taunts PresidentTrump with a barrage of insults, casting the election results as a huge loss for the President, and depicting him as "freaked-out, weak, battered, confused."
In the midst of their midterm results coverage on Wednesday, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News touted the diversity of the Democratic Party’s field of winners. But in the process, they celebrated the election of Congresswoman-elect Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. The problem? She’s been accused of anti-Semitism because of her anti-Israel stance.
Only hours after the midterm elections, on Wednesday morning, NBC’s Today show was already looking to the 2020 presidential campaign, eager to discuss which Democrats were “getting serious about taking on President Trump.” In addition to some of the usual names, the report also touted Democrats who went down to defeat on Tuesday as “future stars” of the party.
Inspired by a modest political victory in flipping the house, lefty showbiz mouthpieces have immediately pivoted to salivating over their next campaign — that is getting their sworn adversary President Donald Trump out of office.
The morning after the midterms, the media was busy celebrating Democrats winning the majority in the House of Representatives. Despite this win, many of the media-hyped Democrats running for office lost their races last night, much to the chagrin of the news media who blamed everything from racism to voter fraud. But over on Good Morning America, ABC tried to spin Ted Cruz’s win over media heartthrob Beto O’Rourke in Texas as a sign of “hope” for 2020.
