In anticipation for her new memoir to be released next week, the networks spent ample time Friday morning promoting Michelle Obama’s book, where the former First Lady blames Trump for the violence happening across the country and claims that his rhetoric endangered her family’s lives.

CNN played a clip of Seth Meyers, from his Late Night show on NBC, saying: "Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is recovering in the hospital after she fell in her office and fractured three ribs. Wow: if you had told me a Supreme Court Justice fell over and broke some ribs, I would have bet on the new guy." Late Night then cut to a clip of Kavanaugh saying "I like beer."

NBC’s Law and Order: Special Victims Unit is back with another whopper of an episode. After covering illegal immigration and school shootings, the fictional cop show kicks the bias up a notch by addressing the Justice Kavanaugh allegations. What could possibly go right with this?

Shortly after President Trump’s well-documented spat with Jim Acosta at a White House press conference yesterday, several other reporters clearly sought the spotlight as they directed gotcha questions at the President, accusing him of “pitting Americans against one another” and “emboldening white nationalists.”

In just a few days we will honor our nation’s bravest heroes during Veterans Day. NBC’s Chicago P.D., however, ran an episode November 7 depicting an Afghanistan war veteran suffering from PTSD and unwilling to seek help. Talk about tone deaf.

In the midst of their midterm results coverage on Wednesday, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News touted the diversity of the Democratic Party’s field of winners. But in the process, they celebrated the election of Congresswoman-elect Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. The problem? She’s been accused of anti-Semitism because of her anti-Israel stance.

Only hours after the midterm elections, on Wednesday morning, NBC’s Today show was already looking to the 2020 presidential campaign, eager to discuss which Democrats were “getting serious about taking on President Trump.” In addition to some of the usual names, the report also touted Democrats who went down to defeat on Tuesday as “future stars” of the party.

With Democrats winning control of the House of Representatives during Tuesday’s midterm elections, on Wednesday morning, NBC’s Today show was giddy over the prospect of liberal lawmakers using their “newfound political power” to “flex their muscles” and launch a series of investigations into the Trump administration.

Is it any wonder half the country doesn’t bother with late night “comedy” shows anymore? On CBS’s Election Night Late Show, Stephen Colbert and his guests smeared Republicans as racist three times and compared GOPers to the KKK. On NBC’s Late Night, liberal host Seth Meyers brought on comedian Billy Eichner to bash bigoted Texans. 

Despite the eventual projections that Democrats would retake the House of Representatives on Tuesday night, NBC News was still uneasy, admitting that “Donald Trump and his followers are still intact” and “there is not a blue tsunami” that could be because of the unpopularity of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

Within moments of the broadcast networks coming on the air Tuesday night with their midterm coverage, ABC, CBS, and NBC had the long knives out for Republicans, condemning their “nativist,” “white-hot rhetoric” creating “one of the most divisive midterms in our lifetime” that was marred by “hate, violence and tragedy.”

As the first polls began the close, liberal broadcast networks ABC and NBC were touting how confident the Democrats appeared despite lingering worries from 2016. As they were nearing the end of their political coverage for World News Tonight, ABC anchor David Muir noted: “the Democrats are projecting confidence as well, as you might expect.”
