In the midst of hyping the “town hall fury” against Donald Trump and his administration, CBS on Thursday recalled that back in 2009, Barack Obama dismissed protests against him as “manufactured.” Co-host Norah O’Donnell played a clip of Sean Spicer talking about liberal outrage: “But there is a bit of professional protester, manufactured base in there.” 

On Wednesday, NBC’s Today and CBS This Morning both hailed liberal protesters “sounding off” at congressional town hall meetings “to put the breaks on President Trump's agenda” and giving Republican lawmakers an “earful.” In 2009, the same networks warned similar public meetings were “getting out of hand” when “unruly” Tea Party demonstrators spoke out against the Obama administration.   

Authorities ordered the temporary evacuation of almost 200,000 people living near the Oroville Dam in California after spillway damage and erosion caused fear of death and devastation. However, as The Mercury News reported Feb. 12, this spillway erosion might never have happened if federal and state officials heeded 2005 warnings and reinforced the emergency spillway with concrete.

The journalists at CBS This Morning on Wednesday openly fretted that Donald Trump’s new immigration orders “could create a climate of fear” for illegal “citizens.” Yes, co-host Gayle King used the word “citizen.” Talking to USA Today bureau chief Susan Page, Anthony Mason worried, “This could create a climate of fear in the immigrant community if it hasn't already.”

After all three of Monday’s network evening newscasts hyped left-wing “Not My Presidents’ Day” protests across the country, on Tuesday, the ABC, CBS, and NBC morning shows took the anti-Trump fervor international as they promoted similar demonstrations in London and the British Parliament debating whether or not President Trump should be permitted a state visit to the U.K.

Who better to discuss Donald Trump’s first month in office than Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign manager? Apparently, that was the thinking of the producers and hosts of CBS This Morning on Monday. The journalists barely pressed Robby Mook over whether his new concern about the sanctity of the vote was simply an effort to deflect from an embarrassing loss.

Monday’s network morning shows were aghast at President Trump continuing to criticize the liberal media with a Friday tweet in which he labeled them “fake news” and “the enemy of the American people.” In response, the ABC, NBC, and CBS broadcasts accused him of “declaring an all-out war on journalists” and compared Trump to Richard Nixon in the midst of Watergate.

On Friday, the broadcast networks continued their hyperventilating over President Trump taking on the media during his Thursday press conference. All three morning shows were beside themselves as hosts and correspondents breathlessly hurled one sensational adjective after another to describe the event, including: “raucous,” “combative,” “shocking,” “jaw-dropping,” “unhinged,” and “astonishing.”

CBS Evening News anchor Scott Pelley on Friday diagnosed that Donald Trump is simply “mad at not being the boss anymore.” He also lectured the President about how ObamaCare repeal legislation should work. On Wednesday, the network morning shows declared a “White House in crisis” amid the fallout from the resignation of National Security Adviser Michael Flynn and a New York Times report on Trump campaign officials having contact with Russia during the presidential race. In another round of fake news, the New York Times on Tuesday quoted from a bogus Twitter account purporting to be from Mike Flynn, the general who resigned on Monday night as National Security Adviser. The Times used a quote from “@GenMikeFlynn” asserting, “But if a scapegoat is what's needed for this Administration to continue to take this great nation forward, I am proud to do my duty.”
