Of the three networks on Thursday, only CBS This Morning bothered to explain that there is nothing unusual about a president fighting with the judiciary. Reporter Jan Crawford highlighted the long history of Democrats, including Franklin Roosevelt, Bill Clinton and Barack Obama attacking judges. ABC’s Good Morning America and NBC’s Today skipped this point.

Before Vice President Mike Pence delivered the tie-breaking vote in the Senate to confirm President Trump’s Education Secretary nominee Betsy DeVos during the noon ET hour on Tuesday, all three network morning shows heralded Democratic senators pulling an “all-nighter” in an attempt to obstruct her confirmation.

Just like they did when he was President, the morning news networks Tuesday gushed over pictures of Obama vacationing, as if he was some kind of Hollywood celebrity. ABC, CBS and NBC couldn’t get enough of the former president kitesurfing in the Virgin Islands with Virgin mobile billionaire Richard Branson, oohing and ahhing at his athleticism and relaxed demeanor.

The journalists at CBS This Morning on Monday hyperventilated over conflicting rulings on Donald Trump’s travel ban, insisting that it’s a brewing “constitutional crisis.”  At first, legal expert Rikki Klieman simply explained the normal process the travel ban would follow through the courts: “Whoever is going to lose here, whichever side, you could have the three-judge panel deciding one way or…

NBC and ABC on Wednesday danced around explicitly explaining that liberal Democrats like Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden and Chuck Schumer previously supported Neil Gorsuch when he was up for an appeals court judgeship. Only CBS This Morning went beyond the bland notation of the now-Supreme Court nominee’s “unanimous” approval.

Tuesday’s network morning shows cheered a statement from former President Obama blasting President Trump’s executive action on immigration and praising leftist protesters taking to the streets.
