Trump Impeachment 1 and 2

Will the Trump impeachment define the careers of Senators and House members when they pass away in the years to come? A morbid thought, but Ryan Goodman, a lawyer in the Pentagon during the Obama administration, is warning on his website Just Security that "history" -- as measured by (liberal) media obituaries -- should make the president's defenders nervous about their legacy. 

Forget that embarrassing CNN segment with Don Lemon, “Republican political strategist” Rick Wilson and contributor Wajahat Ali laughing like hyenas over Wilson’s insulting “Boomer Rube” comment against Trump supporters.

Politico is deeply concerned about impeachment. Not that it could drag on for weeks or even months. No, their worry is that the almost inevitable acquittal of President Donald Trump will lead him to taking a "victory lap" as he's itching to plot a "flashy series finale for impeachment."   

As the Senate impeachment trial went to a break during the 3:00 p.m. ET hour Wednesday afternoon, anchors of NBC News special coverage immediately went to work blasting the arguments from President Trump’s defense team as “dubious,” “legalizing Watergate,” and asserting “absolute power.” 

As Democrats become more glum about the possibility of getting witnesses and extending the impeachment trial, their counterparts in the media are sharpening criticism of how the whole thing has been handled. Over two hours on Thursday, Chuck Todd repeatedly lamented “missed opportunities” and failure to be “aggressive.” 

The New York Times played white knight for candidate Joe Biden after Republican Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa so cruelly brought up  the controversy surrounding Biden’s son Hunter, and his lucrative, controversial position at Ukrainian energy exploration company Burisma, which is at center stage during impeachment proceedings.
