On Thursday afternoon, CNN fill-in host Boris Sanchez cued up frequent guest Dr. Peter Hotez to trash the conservative majority on the Supreme Court for its ruling that New York cannot discriminate against houses of worship in its anti-pandemic restrictions, with the Baylor College of Medicine professor declaring that the ruling is "absolutely crazy" and "devalues human lives."

When it comes to attempting to explain away the unexplainable, nothing's more hackneyed than claiming the offensive statement was "taken out of context." To be sure, Jason Johnson trotted out that excuse while guest-hosting MSNBC's AM Joy Sunday morning. But give Eddie Glaude credit. Thursday on The View the hosts celebrated that Catholic Church leader Pope Francis endorsed civil unions for same-sex couples. The liberal hosts used the news to trash Republicans and Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett as anti-gay, while still demanding the Catholic Church go much further to the left. 

Bill Maher claimed that Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett was a “f---in’ nut.” Now he’s produced the evidence: speaking in tongues.

New York Times climate and energy reporter Hiroko Tabuchi linked the oil and gas industry (which she covers) to white supremacy in a since-deleted tweet which read: "I’ve been thinking a lot about fossil fuels and white supremacy recently. Almost every single oil executive, lobbyist, spokesperson I’ve dealt with is white and male. It’s difficult not to see a link."

After announcing in 2019 that YouTube would remove videos and channels promoting white supremacy and other bigoted ideologies, it has finally decided to remove the Nation of Islam from its platform over a year later. On Oct. 2, the group’s YouTube channel was removed for hate speech.
