Timing: Nasty New Movie Mocks Texans as Racists
Culture
August 30th, 2017 5:25 PM
In the aftermath of the Charlottesville violence, the press is so willing to latch onto anything in entertainment as relevant to the world as they see it. Even if it makes Texans the villains in the midst of a disaster of epic proportions. On August 25, the B movie, Bushwick, was released and desperate critics noticed it. What would have been merely ignored by film reviewers in a previous time,…

Public service announcements are supposed to benefit the public. But when wealthy Hollywood celebrities create them, it’s to push their left-wing agenda -- everything from attacking President Donald Trump to promoting an anti-Christian anti-conservative hate group. The latest PSA features celebrities urging viewers to donate to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). It aired on CBS August 26,…

USA Today Sports Defends ESPN's PC Blunder on Robert Lee

A funny thing happened on my way recently to read an online USA Today story about Colin Kaepernick's football equipment being displayed in a Smithsonian exhibit on Black Lives Matter. Between the headline and the story appeared a "SportsPulse" video, hosted by Trysta Krick. I decided to watch the short video and opted instead to write on the double-barreled leftist diatribe heralding liberal…

Another awards show means another chance for MTV to pretend to be relevant. Kudos to trying to have one about music for a change, but that never seems to make the tone-deaf liberal argument disappear. Much like its earlier movie awards show, the VMAs proceeds to make room in its three-hour lineup for more parroting and edge-pushing.

Bustle Glorifies the Dog Poop Protest Against Patriot Prayer: ‘Genius’
Culture

Regardless of how childish something might be, the left will praise any action if it appears to be in agreement with their ideals. For example, take the Patriot Prayer Freedom Rally, scheduled to happen over August 26 and 27. After Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi decided it was a “white supremacist rally,” the people of San Francisco swallowed the lie and decided to protest--by leaving dog feces on…
Donald Trump's Problematic Device
August 24th, 2017 9:16 PM
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump is in trouble again with his Moral Superiors. His problem, of course, is that he cannot throttle his B.S. Detector. It seems he acquired a B.S. Detector at some point in life that has usually served him well. It certainly did during his long years in business, and it has during his brief time in politics. Now, however, it is problematic.

Never Go Peak Cillizza: CNNer Failed to Grasp Trump Afghanistan Speech
August 24th, 2017 5:00 PM
Even when President Trump says the right thing, it’s wrong. Or at least, that’s what the left- reigned media continues to spin. CNN’s Chris Cillizza wrote a Monday night article entitled “Donald Trump’s Afghanistan speech ended up being all about Charlottesville” in which he made the grasping claim that President Trump’s patriotic and otherwise Afghanistan-related speech was yet another failed…

NYT Critic Sees ‘White Hot Supremacist Summer’ in TV, Movies, Boxing
August 23rd, 2017 8:30 PM
Wesley Morris, the New York Times critic at large with a focus (or obsession) with race in entertainment, declared a “white supremacy summer” on television and in the movies in a long essay posted Wednesday, “In Movies and on TV, Racism Made Plain.” Earlier headlines were even more provocative: “In Virginia and on TV, A Supremacist Summer,” and the URL suggests that the phrase “white hot…
Charlottesville Donnybrook
August 23rd, 2017 6:08 PM
Charlottesville, Virginia, a city named after Britain's first black queen, was the scene of a bloody riot Saturday, Aug. 12. The fray resulted in the death of one woman, who was mowed down by a car; plus, there were many other people injured. Have politicians and the news media told the correct and complete story about what happened, or have Americans been deliberately misled?
Historical Hysteria
August 23rd, 2017 6:06 PM
"The only thing we learn from history is that we learn nothing from history." -- Friedrich Hegel We will learn even less from history if we wipe it clean, as some are trying to do by removing statues of Confederate leaders whose beliefs about slavery and race most, including me, find offensive. Conversation beats censorship.

NYT Blames Police, L.A. Editor Blames State After Trump Rally
August 23rd, 2017 2:04 PM
New York Times reporter Simon Romero covered the violent aftermath of Tuesday night's Trump rally, as left-wing protesters, many violent, faced off with Trump fans: “Trump Rally in Phoenix Touches Nerves in City As Opposing Sides Meet.” Besides seeming to blame Trump’s “divisive” speech for hot tempers (including assaults on police officers), Romero suggested the police were at fault.
