On Thursday's Deadline: White House, MSNBC contributor and frequent show guest Jason Johnson hurled vitriol at Republicans, accusing them of pushing for a "white nationalist ethno-state," and of not caring who dies as they pursue that goal. His incendiary comments came during a discussion of Republican members of Congress trying to downplay the Capitol Hill riots from January 6.

Jonathan Capehart's Sunday show on MSNBC devoted a segment today to slamming Fox News for its coverage of the January 6th Capitol breach. And NBC contributor Dean Obeidallah slimed Fox News as Al Jazeera and analogized Donald Trump to the greatest mass-murdering terrorist in US history.

The Holy Grail of anti-Trump authors would be to have their writings promoted and cited by the House select committee investigating the January 6 Capitol Riot, because it would be a boon to sales. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi refused to let Republicans pick their own members for her Select Committee on the January 6 riot, making the panel look obviously stacked. But on the Week in Review segment of Friday's PBS NewsHour, this was an unfortunate kerfuffle that should be overlooked. David Brooks called any complaints about the stacking "90 percent BS."

In a heated interview today on CNN, Joseph D. McBride, the lawyer for Capitol breach defendant Richard 'Bigo' Barnett—famously seen with his feet on a desk on Nancy Pelosi's office—condemned  the conditions of detention for the defendants, labeling them "D.C. Guantanamo Bay," and repeatedly accused the authorities of "torture."

This season of the liberal legal drama The Good Fight (now on Paramount+) started out slow, more so than previous seasons, mostly because the prime target, Donald Trump, is out of office. But, in the July 8 episode titled “And the Court Had a Clerk”, the drama took a turn and the January 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol became a storyline.

Tuesday night on MSNBC’s The ReidOut, host Joy Reid and longtime faux Republican Matthew Dowd engaged in some corrosive, offensive, and repulsive rhetoric as they insisted that the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol was worse than the radical Islamic terror attacks on September 11, 2001 and that an insufficient number of Democrats share the same concern.
