In the midst of their midterm results coverage on Wednesday, the CBS Evening News and NBC Nightly News touted the diversity of the Democratic Party’s field of winners. But in the process, they celebrated the election of Congresswoman-elect Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. The problem? She’s been accused of anti-Semitism because of her anti-Israel stance.

During MSNBC’s hysteria-heavy afternoon show Deadline: White House on Wednesday, two guests of host and failed former Republican Nicolle Wallace diagnosed America as now in the midst of a “national emergency” and on the verge of a “constitutional crisis” that translates into people needing to “take to the streets” to protest the Trump administration’s firing of Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

After Wednesday’s free-wheeling and tense White House press conference, CNN went on the offensive against President Trump, illustrating a level of self-centeredness that’s unrivaled in the media and showing petty levels of emotion on-set reacting to the President’s condemnations and tense exchanges with chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta, political analyst April Ryan, and PBS’s Yamiche…

Only hours after the midterm elections, on Wednesday morning, NBC’s Today show was already looking to the 2020 presidential campaign, eager to discuss which Democrats were “getting serious about taking on President Trump.” In addition to some of the usual names, the report also touted Democrats who went down to defeat on Tuesday as “future stars” of the party.

Last night Democrats got what most pundits and polls predicted they would get -- control of the House, no cigar in the Senate. So what are blue representatives planning to do for their constituencies who voted them ever so diligently into office?

Donald Trump and CNN battled in an incredible post-Election Day press conference on Wednesday. The President slammed Jim Acosta as a “rude” and “terrible person.” At one point, Trump told Acosta to sit down as a White House aide tried to take the microphone away from him. More, including a transcript will be posted shortly. With Democrats winning control of the House of Representatives during Tuesday’s midterm elections, on Wednesday morning, NBC’s Today show was giddy over the prospect of liberal lawmakers using their “newfound political power” to “flex their muscles” and launch a series of investigations into the Trump administration.

Despite this win, many of the media-hyped Democrats running for office lost their races last night, much to the chagrin of the news media who blamed everything from racism to voter fraud. Is it any wonder half the country doesn’t bother with late night “comedy” shows anymore? On CBS’s Election Night Late Show, Stephen Colbert and his guests smeared Republicans as racist three times and compared GOPers to the KKK. On NBC’s Late Night, liberal host Seth Meyers brought on comedian Billy Eichner to bash bigoted Texans. 

On the last weekend of the 2018 midterms, the media decided an ad by President Trump was “racist” and therefore they refused to air it. CNN, NBC, Facebook, and even Fox News took that position. Why can't it be news when an illegal immigrant shoots two cops dead and laughs about it in court?

Two years after he compared President Trump’s victory to the defeat of Civil War Reconstruction, CBS News contributor and Slate columnist Jamelle Bouie was back on the eyeball network to offer takes on the 2018 midterms, most notably insinuating that the victories of Republicans in states like Florida and Georgia weren’t exactly legit because of — wait for it — “voter suppression.”

When it came to the major broadcast networks and their midterm election coverage, CBS didn’t pan out to have quite the bias the ABC and NBC offered, but there was still one journalist who came through in the clutch with plenty of liberal bias and that was, of course, CBS This Morning co-host and Obama donor Gayle King.
