The new Fox "comedy" The Mick is receiving some much-deserved outrage for its depravity and sexualization of children. The show revolves around foul-mouthed, irresponsible grifter Mackenzie “Mick” Murphy (Kaitlin Olson) who is forced to look after her intolerable niece and nephews after her rich sister goes to jail.

Chelsea host Chelsea Handler is making good on her tearful, post-election promise to use to her “voice.” On January 21, she’ll be leading the Sundance Film Festival’s “Women’s March on Main” to protest President-elect Trump’s inauguration.  

In the coming year, George Soros plans to donate $10 million to groups “contending with incidents of hate” toward “persecuted populations.” Additionally, Soros’ Open Society Foundations will maintain a searchable database of these acts. However, OSF does not define what qualifies as “hate” or who it considers to be “persecuted.” 

Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve discovered a “third rail” in modern American life. When Grammy-nominated artist Kim Burrell condemned the “perverted homosexual spirit” in a sermon broadcasted live over Facebook, the media blew up with accusations of homophobia and hate. 

Chris Pratt, Vanity Fair’s February cover man, is a Hollywood darling. But that’s a relatively new status for the star of Jurassic World and Passengers. In fact, Pratt—a community college dropout who made his break while waiting tables in Hawaii—is very outspoken about God’s hand in his life. 

After a long silence, Chip and Joanna Gaines addressed recent media controversy with a beautiful blog post touting the importance of loving disagreement. And Cosmo noticed.

For the second time this season, Pure Genius has pushed the LGBT agenda, this time featuring a gay ex-prostitute, a lesbian outing, and a transgender actor/actress portraying a Christian! This is not CBS’s first time using a trans actor/actress for a role.

Let’s cut to the chase on this: unlikable people are just not funny. Even worse is when every single character in a "comedy" is unlikable for a full thirty minutes, and they praise an unlikable organization like Planned Parenthood. And yet that is what audiences are forced to sit through with Fox's new series The Mick.

Although he once called himself an atheist, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg now recognizes the importance of religion. 

It’s one thing to mourn death. It’s another to wish it. While some prayed for an end to celebrity deaths in 2016, actor Charlie Sheen asked God to kill president-elect Donald Trump. 

Media types continue to duke it out labeling anyone and anything they can as alt-right. As long as it’s bad. A quick Google finds lefty journalists obsessed with the term. The Atlantic warning of another Boys From Brazil reality: “Will the Alt-Right Peddle a New Kind of Racist Genetics?” Or The Daily Beast upset about, “The Jews Begging to Join the Alt-Right.”

Now and then, celebrities surprise us. Counter to the L.A. culture, some stand firmly for life, for marriage or for faith. And when that happens, it’s positively refreshing. 

Of late, former Obama staffer Michael Wear believes the Democratic Party has viewed white Catholics and Evangelicals with apathy, if not scorn. And that’s an outlook it must change in order to move forward in 2017.
