These past two weeks, Univision viewers have witnessed two strikingly different approaches to the initial coverage dedicated to the two major party candidates for Vice President of the United States, Indiana Governor Mike Pence and Virginia Senator Tim Kaine.

The establishment media is back on its heels in the wake of some of the more explosive revelations within the hacked DNC e-mails recently released by Wikileaks. One of those e-mails, however, cut a little too close to the bone for Univision News.

Azteca América went off the rails during their coverage of the Republican National Convention, characterizing the 2016 GOP platform and the mood at the convention as anti-Mexican.

Earlier, we showed how Univision/Fusion anchor Jorge Ramos gave an immigration lecture to the father of a young man murdered by an illegal immigrant gang member. Sadly, it wasn't just Ramos, and Univision News went further.

Seldom will you see such a clear case of advocacy journalism as this: Jorge Ramos pitching comprehensive immigration reform to the father of a young California man murdered by an illegal immigrant in 2008, just three doors down from his home. But this is exactly what Fusion viewers saw last night as part of the Univision affiliate's coverage of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.

Presumptive Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton hasn't even chosen a running mate, nor is the process open to a vote. That hasn't stopped Univision from clearly voicing its choice for Vice President: Julián Castro, former mayor of San Antonio and current Secretary of Housing and Urban Development. 

Kicking off their respective coverage of the 2016 GOP Convention, Univision and Telemundo dealt with Republicans very differently. Univision’s Al Punto, led by Jorge Ramos, continued its usual anti-Trump tirade, while Telemundo actually a more balanced approach.

Former Univision News analyst and Univision America radio host Helen Aguirre-Ferre appeared on Sunday's Al Punto, in what was her return to the program since joining the RNC as Director for Hispanic Media. Her interview with host Jorge Ramos went pretty much as expected.

One glaring question remained in the wake of Univision's coverage of the closure of Hillary Clinton's email scandal: Where was Jorge Ramos?

Univision finds itself unable, yet again, to suppress the urge to absolve radical Islam in the wake of another terrorist attack. The latest instance in what has become a predictable pattern comes in the aftermath of the horrific Bastille Day attack in Nice, France.

In a recent article written for Fusion titled “I was an ‘accident’ – but I’m still pro-choice”, the writer, Caitlin Murphy, highlights the struggles and hardships endured by her mother after giving birth to her. She also goes into detail about how maybe her mother’s life would have been better if she had just opted for an abortion. Yes, rather than celebrate a single mother’s courage to continue…

In what is a recurring theme, Univision once again saves its most insanely biased analyses for its digital platform. This time the network comically welcomes Mike Pence to the Republican ticket, confirming every Establishment Media stereotype in the process.

So far, Univision’s national evening newscast coverage of the GOP platform has solely focused on the border wall plank, but has completely missed another development of importance to many of their viewers: the inclusion of strong language endorsing Puerto Rican statehood in the Republican platform.

As we have noted previously, the wildest instances of bias by Univision News are now reflected on the network's digital platform. The latest instance comes via its coverage of the Republican National Convention's platform plank on the issue most essential to Univision's long-term survival: immigration.
