The first Sunday of 2020 offered no shortage of things to be discussed on the nation’s Sunday public affairs shows. However, Univision took the opportunity to show how committed it is to immigration advocacy, and how disconnected from the public it claims to serve.

Univision’s senior anchor Jorge Ramos is known for opposing most, if not all, enforcement of the U.S. southern border as part of part of the nation’s immigration policy. His most recent episode on Facebook Watch makes clear that enforcement of the northern border is off limits, too.

A record 28 million plus Hispanics in the United States were employed in November, 2019, but from what the Spanish-speaking nets convey, Latinos are – and must remain - eternally dependent on government assistance.

What was once anomalous bias by omission is now a familiar monthly ritual. The nation’s leading Spanish-language networks can’t seem to wrap their heads around the idea of having to report on the Trump administration’s jobs numbers within the Hispanic community, and if they do so, the report must end on some kind of sour note. The November report was no exception.

Every story is supposed to have two sides. But when it came to reporting the impeachment findings of the House Republicans on the Intelligence Committee vs. the Democrats’s report, the nation’s Spanish-speaking news networks tipped the balance in favor of the Democrats, by a margin of nearly 2 to 1.

CNN political commentator, The View contributor and erstwhile Republican “strategist” Ana Navarro is now fit to deem racial authenticity, based on recent tweets. It all started with a tweet reacting to a poll that showed a 34 percent approval rate among President Donald Trump with African-Americans.

Univision anchor Jorge Ramos is at it again, telling foreign media what he really thinks of his primary audience in the United States. As usual, his ire is directed at Hispanics who dare stray from orthodoxy and, for varying reasons, either stay away from Democrats or outright support Donald Trump.

If you were to believe Univision News, you’d be convinced that Latino immigrants come to the United States only to suffer. Forget about historic economic prosperity, or unprecedented unemployment levels for the nation's largest ethnic minority. The network’s anchors will always find an excuse to inject the “anti-immigrant” tag into their reporting - even within a story about a pro-immigrant…

CNN is upset because President Donald Trump's border control policies are working so well thanks in large part to the cooperation of the Mexican government. And it is that cooperation with Mexico that also irks Univision anchor Jorge Ramos from whom it is obvious CNN got many of their talking points.

In advance of oral arguments before the United States Supreme Court, Univision’s open advocacy of DACA serves to remind us all that the network is little more than an immigration lobby with a broadcast license.
