Given the very few job gains in February and rampant media speculation in March about a coming recession, it was essential that all three evening news shows update their audiences about jobs and unemployment April 5. But not all of them did.

The strong March jobs report “should end” concerns that a recession is “lurking” as one Hill op-ed suggested March 1. The media worried and speculated over recession throughout the entire month of March. The government released the March jobs report on April 5, showing 196,000 jobs added — more than 20,000 higher than expected. It also showed unemployment holding steady at 3.8 percent.

For some reason ABC’s The View has been a favorite stop for Democrats to announce their presidential runs for 2020. That happened again on Thursday’s show, when Rep. Tim Ryan (D-OH) officially announced that he was the Democrat to beat President Trump in the next election.  

In spite of growing wages, extremely low unemployment and nearly 3 percent economic growth in 2018, the liberal media are becoming obsessed with recession. It didn’t matter that CFOs were confident the U.S. economy “will not experience a recession” in 2019. They were fixated by recession prospects in March anyway. Every. Single. Day.

Recently, U.S. Customs and Border Protection estimated that their apprehensions of illegal border crossers for the month of March easily surpassed 100,000. As CBS correspondent Manuel Bojorquez reported on Evening News Monday, “That would be the highest one-month total in more than a decade.” But that fact drew yawns from NBC Nightly News where they were more terrified of a border shutdown…

On Monday, the hosts of MSNBC worked themselves into an absolute panic over President Trump threatening to shut down the U.S. southern border in response to a recent spike in illegal immigration. Beyond concerns over the ongoing humanitarian crisis, anchors saw another devastating impact on the horizon – a possible avocado shortage.

Friday the hosts of The View reserved their rage for Education Secretary Betsy Devos, after the administration backpedaled on cutting federal funds for the Special Olympics. Liberal host Ana Navarro tore into DeVos for being wealthy, calling her “Cruella DeVos” while Joy Behar not-so-subtly called her a “bitch.”

For two days running on Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough tries to tie President Trump to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Scarborough also labels Trump a "millionaire" rather than a billionaire, suggesting that Trump is worth $30-40 million and perhaps as little as $10 million.     

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos went before Congress recently to defend the administration’s proposed almost $18 million cut to the Special Olympics, a private organization. Despite the fact that federal funding only made up a fraction of the Special Olympics’ budget, the liberal broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) had total meltdowns during their evening programs.

With the dark cloud over his administration finally lifting, President Trump shifted focus to fixing America’s health care system Tuesday. But since it involved getting rid of the disastrous ObamaCare law, the liberal media were preparing themselves for battle. Perhaps it was because they lost big on their collusion conspiracy bet but ABC’s and NBC’s attacks against Trump seemed extra vicious…
