Anti-Religious Bias

Looks like TBS late night talk show host Conan O’Brien is fitting mockery of Jesus Christ and President Trump into the same joke and not everyone thinks it's hilarious. O’Brien, the decorated comedian and former Tonight Show host, decided a snarky tweet about the crucifixion and pandemic-fighting drugs praised by Trump officials was the best way to ring in the Easter holiday.

It takes something pretty wild to make a viewer think the CW dramatic soap opera Dynasty has gone beyond the pale, given the standard storylines written for the show. This week though, it succeeded.

This past year of anti-Christian hate on television has been overwhelming. The faithful have been called "right-wing ding dongs," "idiots," "suckers," "mental," and "stupid people" for their belief in God. We’ve now been shown just five episodes of Hulu’s series Little Fires Everywhere, and there has already been plenty of liberal lecturing so far. But the Kerry Washington/Reese Witherspoon-produced drama isn’t done lecturing yet. It is nothing new for Fox’s The Simpsons to mock Christians, but it happened once again in the March 15 episode titled “Better Off Ned.” Bart Simpson found himself in trouble and facing suspension from school over a prank gone bad, so he used a fake hand grenade during a school performance to cause a commotion.

We’ve finally reached the end. Starting next week, HBO’s The New Pope will no longer crowd our screens with endless religious smears. Sadly, there’s still the finale to contend with, and the series wasn’t going down without one last blow to Christianity.
