If there’s one thing TV writer Shonda Rhimes loves, it’s abortion. Every show she touches must push her pro-abortion agenda, and the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Station 19 on ABC is no exception. You’d think a show about firefighters would mean we wouldn’t be subjected to abortion propaganda, but she still finds a way to include it - often.
On Thursday’s episode, “Even Better Than the Real Thing,” the show’s favorite character for pushing a leftist agenda, Dr. Carina DeLuca (Stefania Spampinato) (who last week voiced an awkward dub in a scene featuring a gender reveal because someone on the writers’ team forgot to be woke) is in her office looking disheveled because she’s staying in a hotel while separated from her wife.
Though she’s stressed and already volunteering at the firehouse’s free clinic for underprivileged patients, her colleague Dr. Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) begs her to volunteer more hours at her “reproductive rights” clinic, which is what the left calls an abortion clinic when it doesn’t want you to focus on what happens there.
Shonda and her team are still furious that the overturning of Roe gave the power to decide on the abortion issue back to the states, as is apparent by the dialogue in the scene:
Miranda: Have you thought more about volunteering additional hours at my clinic?
Carina: Is it still called volunteering if you're forcing me to do it?
Miranda: Okay, the station's clinic can survive without you for a few shifts.
Carina: Uh, does your husband know you're trying to recruit me away from Station 19?
Miranda: You are an ob.
Miranda: I run a reproductive rights clinic. This is a no-brainer.
Miranda: So that's a no. Ben will understand. We need to be open longer hours, okay? And it's not me asking. It's the women who need us asking. The women who drive long hours from abortion-hostile states that need us to open our doors when they arrive.
Carina: That is so manipulative.
Miranda: These are facts.
Just as a reminder, this is the third time this season the show and Carina’s character have preached to us on abortion. Because in Shondaland, there’s no such thing as too much abortion propaganda.
