These days, what’s an awards show without some politics mixed in, right? The latest example happened June 10 during the 72nd Annual Tony Awards on CBS, honoring the best on Broadway. The three-hour show started off relatively tame in comparison to some of the Hollywood extravaganzas but nonetheless, they persisted.

The season finale of Showtime’s Billions culminated in U.S. Attorney Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) attempting to remove Trump appointed Attorney General Waylon “Jock” Jeffcoat (Clancy Brown) from office. Last episode, after Chuck discovered that AG Jeffcoat, a parody of AG Jeff Sessions, earned all of his money illegally, he plans to lure Jeffcoat into obstructing justice. 

We’ve, sadly, not come a long way, baby! In Thursday’s premiere of Paramount Network’s American Woman, “Liberation,” we got a glimpse of how the script was flipped on the topic of abortion back in the disco decade.

On June 7, Freeform premiered the latest Marvel series, Cloak and Dagger, based on the comic of the same name. Much like Hulu’s Runaways, the series focuses on teenagers who discover they have extraordinary abilities in connection with each other. Also like Hulu’s Runaways, the show seems keen on adding a social justice edge, whether we want one or not.

We’re hardly halfway through 2018, and entertainment television has already given us heaps of liberal propaganda before we've even started our summer vacations. If the first five months were any indication, we’re in for a long year filled with race-baiting, Christian-bashing, and ever-growing Trump Derangement Syndrome.

The latest episode of Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale comes up with a new way to twist the words of the Bible into their own depraved interpretation. This time, they justify violence against women at their hands of their own husbands. It just goes to show, never trust Hollywood to quote Scripture.

AMC’s new series Dietland is the latest show to cash in on the #MeToo movement in the name of #feminism. This program, however, aims to take things to a whole new level with the next natural step in stopping rapists: murder.

Has liberal Hollywood just completely run out of original material? Season four of Netflix’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, a ditzy, nonsensical comedy series, makes me think so. The first six episodes released on May 30 are randomly sprinkled with snide comments against President Trump and conservatives in general, and even beats the dead horse of white privilege.

FX’s new transgender drama series, Pose, boasts the largest LGBTQ cast ever assembled for a scripted TV show—but that’s not enough. The show also wants to tackle Trump-era politics…like literally every show on TV today. Pose follows a group of transgender/gay people and their community trying to find their way in 1987 New York City.

Showtime’s I’m Dying Up Here proves it’s not offering any new material by once again bashing Christianity. It’s only fitting, I suppose, since the show is based in the 1970's that its jokes feel that old. This week, the show attempts to give us tasteless and disparaging humor about one of the sacraments of Catholicism.

Showtime’s Billions continues its vendetta against Attorney General Jeff Sessions by characterizing its Jeff-Sessions parody character, Attorney General Waylon “Jock” Jeffcoat (Clancy Brown), as a man who “recognizes no legal or moral authority, no justice but his own” and deserves “assassination."

Liberal comedienne Michelle Wolf can’t get enough support for her White House Correspondent’s Dinner routine. In the bonus episode of David Letterman’s Netflix series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, he praises Wolf for having “the guts to stand up there” and “decimate the place.”

The first half of season 5 of Arrested Development took multiple swipes at President Trump, even though the show takes place before his presidency. Released on Netflix on May 29, the show inserts many of Trump’s statements made on the campaign trail into the plot.
