The front page of Monday’s New York Times featured national political correspondent Jonathan Martin’s “news analysis” on the Democratic meltdown in Virginia, now involving both Gov. Ralph Northam and Lt. Gov Justin Fairfax: "Trump Behaves One Way on Race. Democrats Demand Better From Their Own.” Martin rather desperately tried to change the subject from damaging stories about a racist Democratic governor into a story about how quickly the Democratic camp tosses their own bad apples.

As the blackface/KKK scandal consumed Democratic Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, the party was calling for him to resign and to let “rising star” Justin Fairfax, the lieutenant governor, take over. But the young Democrat had his own problem in the form of a new sexual assault allegation. Despite the Monday accusations being seen by some as serious and credible, that evening’s ABC World News Tonight ignored them while hawking Fairfax’s ascension. And NBC downplayed the allegations by adopting Fairfax’s terms.

During a discussion about the ongoing racial scandal swirling around Democratic Virginia Governor Ralph Northam, MSNBC anchor Andrea Mitchell actually fretted that calls for his resignation ran the “risk of appearing too politically correct” and may even create “blowback” against Democrats.

As part of the media-wide outrage at the racist yearbook photo and subsequent fallout involving Virginia Governor Ralph Northam (D), Saturday afternoon’s MSNBC Live seemed unsure whether to laugh or be outraged at Northam’s press conference in which he denied being in the racist photo, admitted to wearing blackface that same year, and almost did the moonwalk.

On Monday, the third hour of the Today show brought on a pair of left-wing MSNBC political analysts to react to the growing racial scandal embroiling Virginia Democratic Governor Ralph Northam. While both of them appropriately condemned an offensive blackface picture featured on Northam’s 1984 college yearbook page, they also argued that President Trump was somehow to blame for the controversy.

When Hollywood feminists campaign in elections, it often backfires spectacularly. In their efforts to spite Trump and the GOP, actresses campaigned for someone who used to dress in blackface.

Over the weekend, calls mounted for Virginia Governor Ralph Northam to resign over racist photos that were found in his medical school yearbook. Yet the Democrat’s controversial comments supporting a radical abortion law proposed by his party was swept under the rug by the media. CNN even went out of its way to silence any conservative guests who tried to bring up that story on their network this weekend.

The Democratic Party kicked off Black History Month with a trip back to its racist roots with the controversy surrounding Virginia Governor Ralph Northam and a photo appearing to show him in either blackface or a KKK hood. He claims it wasn’t him although he did admit to wearing blackface in the past. As Democratic politicians and liberal media folks called on him to resign, a panel of journalists on CNN’s Inside Politics tacitly admitted that the calls were happening because the political timing was significant.

As Newsbusters has previously reported, The Washington Post quickly rushed to the defense of Virginia’s Democratic Governor Ralph Northam after a racially charged photo on his medical school yearbook page surfaced. The picture in question featured a man in blackface standing next to a man in a KKK robe. Fox News host Tucker Carlson singled out The Post on his show Friday night, accusing the paper of ripping the Republican and skipping the Democrat in the midst of a very competitive gubernatorial election.

On Friday's Erin Burnett Outfront on CNN, during a discussion of revelations that Virginia Democratic Governor Ralph Northam included a racist photograph in his portion of his medical school's yearbook, frequent Republican guest Stephen Moore was lambasted and cut off by other panel members when he brought up the other controversy involving Northam from this week -- that he defended an extreme abortion legalization bill by speaking approvingly of allowing some babies to die immediately after birth if the mother chose to do so.

During Friday’s AC360, the eponymous host and his panel reacted to the breaking news of the evening surrounding Virginia’s Democratic Governor Ralph Northam and a racist yearbook photo from his medical shool. Not surprisingly, Democratic Strategist Bakari Sellers condemned Northam and called on him to resign. But he also used the opportunity to lump in Northam with the kids at Covington Catholic High School, who faced accusations of racism later proven unwarranted.

While some in the cable news media have been direct and professional in their calls for Virginia Democratic Governor Ralph Northam to resign (with others ghoulishly connecting Northam to, among others, the Covington kids and Justice Kavanaugh), CNN briefly mislabled Northam Friday night as a Republican while airing video of his so-called apology for his racist medical school yearbook page.
