At midnight Eastern Wednesday, MSNBC followed usual form for big news nights such as debates, election nights, and presidential speeches in somehow allowing Chris Matthews to host a late-night edition of Hardball to recap President Trump's State of the Union. Inside the blog, there are slides containing some of the silliest series of hot takes from that hour, presented in chronological order.

On Saturday's CNN Newsroom, host Ana Cabrera did not bother to fact check former Senator Barbara Boxer when the far-left California Democrat wrongly claimed that President Donald Trump "wants to put women in jail" for having abortions.

Democrats love protecting children and invoking a higher power, but only when it benefits them politically. On All In with Chris Hayes Thursday, former U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer cited religion, sin, and children to blast the Trump administration’s immigration policy.

The news of Barbara Bush’s passing wasn’t even an hour old Tuesday night when MSNBC host Chris Hayes had his All In panel use the news to malign the current state of the Republican Party. The liberal brought on anti-Trump Republican David Jolly and former Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer (CA) to discuss how the GOP had fallen so far since it’s heyday with the Bush dynasty.

With the latest sexual harassment news about MSNBC's Chris Matthews having to pay a $40,000 settlement to an assistant producer for Hardball in 1999, can anybody be really surprised? The reason is that Matthews over the years has a record of very strange behavior of a leering nature around women, much of it recorded for posterity. A couple of the more notable examples are presented below starting with the the uncomfortable 2007 incident in which Matthews asked Erin Burnett who was then the anchor of CNBC's Street Signs to lean in closer to the camera so he could get a better look at her.

Former Senator Barbara Boxer (D-CA) was a guest on the December 8 episode of Netflix’s Chelsea titled “We All Have to Fight and Be Loud.” During the interview, Boxer relayed some opinions of psychiatrists who believe that President Trump has brainwashed Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and turned her into someone “who is kind of cult-like.”

California Senator Barbara Boxer was called upon to counsel Chelsea Handler on her Netflix show that was taped the day after the presidential election results. Talk about a meltdown – in Thursday's episode titled “The Day After with Sen. Barbara Boxer,” both women were in tears that Hillary Clinton lost to Donald Trump. It was a ridiculous spectacle.

On Tuesday night, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews played the role of charmer in creepily professing how attractive he found new author, friend, guest, and Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer (Calif.) that Matthews repeatedly told the audience she “look great” and expressed concern about the physical toll of traveling between California and Washington for work.

In an online column posted on Wednesday, Joy-Ann Reid from the liberal MSNBC cable television channel behaved as a Democratic Party apparatchik by calling for Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders to “level with your dreamers” that his opponent, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, has won the primary contest despite the fact that the socialist candidate made the contest “a hard-fought race.”

Reid, who is the anchor of AM Joy, which airs from 10 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturdays and Sundays, began her article by stating that Sanders “must stop indulging his people’s fantasies, tell them the truth about the math -- and get them to stop with all the nasty about Clinton.”

Democratic U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer of California today cited how her home state's "important gun safety laws" demonstrate that “Sensible gun laws work, we’ve proven it in California, and we're not going to give up." She apparently means that she and others who won't respect the Second Amendment are "not going to give up" on passing or imposing similar legislation or mandates nationally.

Ms. Boxer apparently failed to notice that San Bernardino, the site of yesterday's massacre of 14 at a San Bernardino County holiday party — with 21 others injured, many critically — is in her home state. A Republican or conservative making a similar observation almost immediateely after an event demonstrating an obviously contradictory point as Boxer did would be an object of relentless establishment press criticism and ridicule. But Boxer is a gun-grabbing leftist, so she'll likely get a near-complete pass. Video follows the jump.

In report that didn’t make the cut for Thursday’s CBS This Morning amidst the San Bernardino shooting coverage, the CBS Morning News aired congressional correspondent Nancy Cordes’s latest attempt to push gun control and lament how Congress is “reluctant to pass new control laws” with friendly soundbites from Democratic Senator Barbara Boxer (Calif.) and Hillary Clinton.

After filing a gooey piece on Hillary Clinton, Monday’s NBC Nightly News also gave airtime to the Republican field, but only in the context of attacking 2016 candidate Carly Fiorina over campaign debt she recently finished paying off from her failed 2010 Senate campaign (despite the fact that she’s far from the first to have debt).
