Media Fail to Acknowledge Lagging Economy, Substance in Trump Speech
August 13th, 2016 9:34 AM
It’s no secret that I’m very leery of Donald Trump. Simply stated, I don’t sense any genuine commitment to smaller government and free markets. But skepticism isn’t the same as bias and there is plenty of it in the media. As Julia Seymour at Newsbusters recently pointed out: 2 of 3 Networks Cover ‘Good’ Jobs News; All 3 Silent about Collapsing GDP.

Top Newspapers Even WORSE Than TV In Hillary v. Trump Controversies
August 11th, 2016 10:07 PM
Our number-crunchers found the networks gave Trump’s “Second Amendment” crack about stopping Hillary-nominated judges drew five times as much air time as Hillary’s embarrassment when the father of mass-murdering terrorist Omar Mateen showed up behind her on TV at a Florida rally. Guess what? The nation’s top newspapers were even worse in demonstrating a double standard on these two bad-news…

Monster Bias: Networks Spend 2X More Time on Pokemon Go than Economy
Business
August 11th, 2016 4:06 PM
When it came to covering issues voters cared about, the networks didn’t catch ‘em all, especially the most important one. According to the Pew Research Center, voters ranked the economy as their highest priority in July. But the media had different priorities in its coverage. It spent twice as much time reporting on Pokemon Go, a mobile game in which players caught cartoon monsters, than it did…

Not News: 'Jesus Christ' of Marxism to Direct Venezuelan Economy
August 9th, 2016 5:56 PM
Over two weeks ago, the Bolivarian socialist government of Venezuela under de facto dictator Nicolas Maduro decreed that private-sector and government workers can be forced to work on farms if the military, which is now responsible for food production and distribution in that shortage-wracked country, deems it necessary.
Relevant site searches indicate that the country's forced-labor decree…

Bozell & Graham Column: The Left vs. Free Speech
July 5th, 2016 11:01 PM
It's a paradox. The liberal media champion themselves as the most open-minded people on planet Earth, with a devotion to the freedom of speech. How can intelligent people be so wrong? In reality, liberal elites have a nasty tendency to dismiss “conservative thought” as an oxymoron. They don’t read conservative books or magazines, and they wouldn’t lower themselves to watching conservatives on…

From Cincy to D.C.: How Lois Lerner's IRS Targeted the Tea Party
July 2nd, 2016 12:11 PM
Lois Lerner’s confession at that conference did contain one small truth. The IRS targeting scandal did indeed start in “Cincy”—as D.C. headquarters refers to that outpost. On a cold late February day in 2010, a Cincinnati screener named Jack Koester found himself focused on an application from a local Tea Party group.

CBS Crew Plead with Guest to Be Hillary’s Treasury Secretary
June 30th, 2016 2:28 PM
Thursday’s CBS This Morning was already on a roll as they dismissed Attorney General Loretta Lynch “innocent” meeting with former President Bill Clinton when they dug themselves further into the hole of liberal media bias as they giggled in pleading with an investment company guest to be Hillary Clinton’s Treasury Secretary under the assumption she becomes president.

Hillary 'Wall Street $peeches' Clinton Promises Non-Rigged Economy
June 22nd, 2016 8:08 AM
The establishment press must not think that anyone should care about the millions of dollars Bill Clinton and his wife Hillary have "earned" making speeches, particularly to powerful banks and Wall Street firms, since he left the presidency in 2001 and after her time as Secretary of State ended in 2013.
That's the only explanation as to why Mrs. Clinton could promise, as she did on Tuesday, that…

AP Reporters Pretend to Struggle With 'Unexplained' Violent Crime Rise
June 8th, 2016 12:12 PM
If we're to believe the pose struck by five Associated Press reporters who contributed to a Sunday afternoon story on the topic, the spike in violent crime in the U.S. during the past nearly two years apparently needs its own episode of the old Unsolved Mysteries TV series.
"Experts can't point to a single reason" for the rise. The increase "is stumping law enforcement officials." FBI Director…

NYT Editorial Notes 'Millions Just Getting By'; No Mention of Obama
June 6th, 2016 12:04 AM
In a remarkable "Who do they think they're kidding?" exercise seen on Thursday, a New York Times editorial cited the findings of a Federal Reserve study released in late May showing that 76 millions are, in the Fed's words, "struggling to get by" or "just getting by."
Gosh, I wonder why? The Times apparently wants readers to believe that these conditions couldn't possibly have anything to do…

Shameless Media Blast Impeachment of Corrupt Brazilian as a 'Coup'
May 13th, 2016 11:39 AM
“Brazil Coup Complete,” claims the leftist Huffington Post. It reproduces a Reuters article about Brazil’s democratically elected Senate voting today to put the country’s corrupt leader on trial. But there is no coup. Rather, Brazil’s President, leftist Dilma Roussef, is being impeached for abuses of power:

CNN's Bernstein Blames Viewers for Biased FNC, But CNN 'Unbiased'
April 24th, 2016 3:15 PM
Appearing as a guest on Sunday's Reliable Sources, as CNN political commentator Carl Bernstein exonerated longtime parts of the dominant media like the New York Times, the Washington Post and his own CNN of being biased sources, he accused Fox News of being biased and blamed consumers of news for wanting to see "information to reinforce what they already believe."

WSJ Gun-Training Story Cites Harvard Prof Who Called Owners 'Wimps'
March 31st, 2016 5:18 PM
In an otherwise decent story about senior citizens taking up shooting lessons for self-defense, the Wall Street Journal's James R. Hagerty devoted two paragraphs to an anti-gun researcher by the name of Dr. David Hemenway who essentially argued that it's a bad idea for senior citizens to keep guns in their houses. Of course, Hagerty left out how the Harvard researcher has previously sneered that…

Bloomberg: Yale Endowment-Targeting Connecticut Is 'Cash-Strapped'
March 29th, 2016 11:46 AM
In a variation on a popular saying in real estate — "The three most important factors are location, location and location" — the State of Connecticut, since Democrat Dannel Malloy became Governor five years ago, has employed three strategies to balance its budget: raising taxes, raising taxes, and raising taxes.
The Nutmeg State's next planned round of tax increases includes a proposal pushed by…
