On Wednesday’s Hardball, host Chris Matthews engaged in a fascinating debate with Stanford University’s Lanhee Chen on Supreme Court appointments and the Biden rule. But above all, Matthews lied that Obama appointee Merrick Garland “never got a conversation with a Republican” when Garland met with at least 16 Republican Senators.

Republican members of Congress met in Philadelphia last weekend for what was called a retreat. It might have been more accurately labeled an advance. Perhaps not since the days of Franklin Roosevelt's first term has so much been done by so few that will potentially impact so many (to paraphrase Winston Churchill in a completely different context).

Columnist Leonard Pitts is the latest liberal to mock Wall Street Journal editor Gerard Baker for putting the brakes on calling Donald Trump a “liar” on Sunday’s Meet the Press. Somehow, a sense of caution on Trump utterances equates to Holocaust comparisons. Pitts began his column: “Five minutes for Hitler, five minutes for the Jews.”

WASHINGTON — Over the weekend some pathetic wretch — obviously a casualty of the Nov. 8 election — writing under the pen name Paul Farhi filed a column in the Washington Post lamenting that after an extensive search of the newspapers of this great country, he could hardly find any pro-Trump columnists. 

Well, that didn't take long. The morning after the Washington Post's Friday evening story that a "Secret CIA assessment says Russia was trying to help Trump win White House," a "deeply disturbed" Bob Baer, appearing on CNN Newsroom, when questioned as to whether "we should have another election," said that if it's true, "I don’t see any other way than to vote again."

On the heels of his contentious CNN segment on Monday doing what CNN’s journalists wouldn’t in bringing up Donna Brazile’s firing, American Conservative Union (ACU) president Matt Schlapp brought the heat on Thursday afternoon to MSNBC as he demolished the assertions put forth by host Kate Snow's brusing aside of a Fox News Channel (FNC) report about the FBI investigating the Clinton Foundation. 

Democratic Governor Terry McAullife’s PAC donated almost $500,000 to the wife of an FBI agent leading the probe into Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal. This stunning revelation, despite being reported in Monday’s edition of The Wall Street Journal didn’t receive any time on the Big Three network (ABC, CBS, NBC) morning shows. 

In sectors of society known for their distinctive liberal bent – such as Silicon Valley and the LGBT community – Trump supporters inexplicably throw a wrench in the works. Alienated and reviled, these folks test the professed tolerance of their liberal compatriots.

To be clear, she did lots of things that are illegal, but a corrupt FBI and Department of Justice decided not to prosecute her.

Much is being made of The View host Joy Behar's outrageous smear earlier this week of three women who have accused Bill Clinton's sexual assault and unwanted sexual advances as "tramps." The blowback is richly deserved, especially because compelling evidence indicates that these women are the victims, not only of Bill Clinton, but of Hillary Clinton's enabling behavior and actions.
