NYT Goes Full Woody Allen in Neurotic Editorial to Wrap Up Awful 2016
December 31st, 2016 9:41 PM
The lead New York Times editorial for New Year's Eve aiming to wrap up 2016, “Take a Bad Year. And Make It Better,” marked a triumph of liberal emotion over reason. The editorial voice of this eminent newpaper reduces itself to a Woody Allen caricature of an urban liberal wimp tormented by dictator Trump and his racist fellow citizens, but without the virtue of actual humor.
Press Thinks It Owns 'Fake News' Tag; Center-Right Has Had It 10 Years
December 31st, 2016 8:44 PM
On Christmas evening, appearing in print on Sunday, December 26, Jeremy Peters at the New York Times pretended that the term "fake news" has only gained common currency very recently during the social media era. He also effectively contended that the establishment press holds ownership rights over the term, claiming that "conservative cable and radio personalities, top Republicans and even Mr. (…

December 31st, 2016 1:59 PM
Credit the New York Times for covering every possible left-wing, Manhattan-centric anti-Trump angle as Inauguration Day approaches. Reporter Emily Rueb found a surge in marriages, especially among gay couples and immigrants (preferably both), before Donald Trump takes office on January 20: “Saying ‘I Do’ Becomes A New Priority – Some Couples Feel an Urgency To Wed Before Inauguration Day."

December 30th, 2016 9:34 PM
In a column posted at NewsBusters on December 29, R. Emmett Tyrrell Jr. relayed personal anecdotal evidence indicating that "This Christmas Season Was Different." Based on his interactions and observations, Tyrrell believes that 2016 marked a change in "the way we talk about what is a major holy day for the majority of the American people." In his experience, people this year were far more…
Unproven 'Fake News' Media Meme: Russia 'Hacked the Elections'
December 30th, 2016 2:26 PM
The purveyors of what the establishment press likes to describe as "fake news" have nothing on the fake news the establishment press itself generates at the Obama administration's behest.
For example, the Associated Press, in a very late paragraph in just one of its three reports on the topic Thursday, admitted that "Though the FBI and Homeland Security Department issued a joint report on '…

New York Times Gushes Over 'The Fashion of Islam' Exhibit
December 29th, 2016 9:58 AM
The same liberal media that tout women’s rights, gender equality, equal pay, the freedom for a woman to express herself by choosing how to dress, is the same media now pushing the narrative that "modest" Islamic fashion is the hottest style to hit the catwalks.
New York Times writer Jori Finkel’s article, “The Fashion of Islam’ to Arrive at de Young in 2018” gushes about the de Young Museum in…
NY Times States’ Rights Hypocrisy Shines in Immigration Coverage
December 28th, 2016 4:11 PM
The New York Times has two standards when it comes to defying the rule of federal law – it’s great when it comes to left-wing causes like amnesty for illegals and sanctuary cities, awful when it comes to opposition to gay marriage. And while the Times is adamantly opposed to churches who dare to act on their opposition to gay marriage, churches can gain Strange New Respect from the paper for…

Steve McMahon, a Democratic Party member described as a media consultant, apparently either hasn't followed the news sufficiently since the presidential election, or is determined to rewrite history. My vote is with the latter. McMahon appeared on MSNBC on Tuesday. Before criticizing President-Elect Donald Trump's victory rallies as "incendiary, he outrageously claimed that Hillary Clinton has "…

After Trump Tweet, Bitter Silver Posts Nuclear Survival Electoral Map
December 26th, 2016 10:46 PM
Nate Silver has been the establishment press's designated polling hero since 2008, when he correctly predicted the outcome of that year's presidential contest in 49 of 50 states. He also had a great year in 2012, predicting all 50 states' presidential preference results.
This year's election? Not so much. Donald Trump won, and Silver is not handling it well. In fact, he's violated one of the…
Lib Professor: Kristof Is Enabling Right’s ‘Anti-Intellectualism’
December 26th, 2016 1:30 PM
Aaron Hanlon thinks anti-conservative bias at colleges and universities is a molehill that a lot of people try to make into a mountain. To the dismay of Hanlon, a professor of English at Colby College, some of his fellow liberals are among those who, in his opinion, exaggerate the problem and thereby bolster the right’s case. Last Thursday in The New Republic, Hanlon went after New York Times…
New York Times Wraps Up 2016 With Christmas Gifts for Democrats
December 25th, 2016 8:15 PM
Not even Christmas Day provided respite from New York Times bias: The Sunday Review was devoted to the Year in Pictures, and cast the just-concluded election as a clash of light vs. darkness. The front-page was wholly covered by a full-length photo of Donald Trump -- more accurately, Trump’s shadow -- in stark, Stygian darkness, while the back page featured a hopeful member of the Hillary…
