Once again, the nation is shaken by news of a horrific and deadly car crash initiated by an illegal alien behind the wheel of a tractor. Somehow, vast portions of the legacy media found this story to be unworthy of air time.

The dumbest news cycle in recent memory continues apace, as the legacy nightly news continue to cover the Trump administration’s construction of an ornate ballroom in the East Wing as though it were Watergate. But there are signs that this story may yet fade.

It is not often that legacy media national newscasts devote precious A-block time to what amounts to an ongoing renovation with zoning board issues. But in an endless Trump Resistance media loop, the construction of the new White House ballroom is a unique affront to the nation’s institutional integrity- and draws such coverage.

The shocking discovery of a tree stand outside the Palm Beach International Airport, with a clear line of sight to where President Donald Trump steps off Air Force One, was at or near the top of the ABC and NBC Sunday Night Newscasts. This was not the case at CBS, amid some questionable editorial choices.

The “Opponent of the President” narrative machine fired up once again, as news broke of the 18-count indictment handed down against former National Security Adviser John Bolton. The news that the horrific Palisades Fire in Los Angeles was probably caused by an arsonist completely retconned much of the media climate change dramaticism tied to the disaster. But the evening broadcast networks took it a step further and buried news that the accused arsonist is an eco-extremist.

You know that a public statement from a Democrat elected official is bad when the media steps in and tries to firefight potential public backlash. Such is the case with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, who gets five-alarm firefighting from NBC after saying that “every day gets worse for us.”

We at the Media Research Center have long argued that one of the most insidious forms of media bias is bias by omission: the exclusion of stories, or of key items within stories, that run counter to the ongoing media narrative. We cover those omissions as they happen, but they are usually limited to one high-profile story. But last night’s legacy evening news omitted THREE major items.

In a radical departure from the reporting we usually see with regard to immigration, a legacy news outlet elected to report GOOD news related to the Trump administration’s efforts to enforce the southern border. NBC’s report on the border is a real eye-opener:

It happened again: an explosive report drops detailing the breadth, width and scope of the extent to which the government was weaponized against conservatives. And again, the legacy media are nowhere to be found.

Like watching a bad telenovela with its predictable, bad acting- so is watching the legacy media cover Bad Bunny’s much-hyped Super Bowl halftime show. In today’s episode of that bad soap opera, NBC Nightly News covers a throwaway line as if it were a major rift directly involving the President of the United States.
