NBC Debate Moderators Pepper Republicans with Questions from the Left
September 8th, 2011 7:58 AM
NBC’s Brian Williams and Politico’s John Harris peppered the NBC News/Politico debate inside the Air Force One pavilion at the Reagan Library with questions from the left, repeatedly pressing the Republican presidential candidates with liberal talking points and Democratic agenda items.
That’s time which could have been better spent advancing issues and concerns of Republican primary voters…
Chris Matthews Wonders Who'll Get Kicked in the Testicles at Wednesday
September 7th, 2011 6:02 PM
UPDATE AT END OF POST: Video of Matthews repeating this on the air.
After months of inactivity in his Twitter account, MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Wednesday tweeted what some might consider a rather risqué comment about the upcoming Republican presidential debate (mild vulgarity follows with commentary):
Chris Matthews' Warped History: Ronald Reagan 'Wasn't a Social Conserv
September 7th, 2011 5:40 PM
MSNBC's Chris Matthews on Wednesday offered up bizarre, revisionist history, insisting that Ronald Reagan "wasn't a social conservative." In an attempt to denigrate the goals of the Tea Party movement, the Hardball host inaccurately asserted that the 40th president "accepted Roe V. Wade."
Matthews, who fancies himself a presidential historian, appeared on the Martin Bashir show and asserted…
Barnicle, Brown Defend Hoffa: Suddenly Opposed To 'Sanitizing' Speech
September 7th, 2011 8:01 AM
Is there no double-standard depths to which the liberal media won't sink when it comes to provocative political speech? No—judging by the pitiful performance of two MSMers on today's Morning Joe in defending James "Take 'Em Out" Hoffa.
Newsweek editor Tina Brown brayed that we must not "sanitize" political speech or take the "juice" out of it--all the while condemning Michele Bachmann and…

September 7th, 2011 8:00 AM
Tonight Brian Williams will moderate, along with Politico's John F. Harris, the GOP presidential candidate debate at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library. If recent performances by the NBC Nightly News anchor are an indication, candidates (particularly those favored by the Tea Party) should recognize his hostility to their agenda and be prepared for a number of topics and questions from the…

September 7th, 2011 12:14 AM
Not surprisingly, MSNBC’s Ed Schultz was practically orgasmic with joy Tuesday over Teamsters president James Hoffa’s Labor Day declaration of war against the Tea Party.
After telling his “Ed Show” audience that Obama’s poll numbers have been declining because he hasn’t spoken to the American people like the union boss, Schultz actually asked Hoffa, “Do you think the Republicans are sons of b…
Jonah Goldberg on Hoffa: There'd Be No Controversy If We Didn't Have
September 6th, 2011 10:34 PM
National Review's Jonah Goldberg on Tuesday, appearing on Fox News's "Special Report," put James Hoffa's Labor Day attack on the Tea Party in proper perspective.
"We would not be in this mess, we would not have this controversy, if we did not have this bonfire of asininity that came out of the Tucson shootings where all of a sudden Sarah Palin’s Facebook Congressional map was somehow to blame…
MSNBC's Bashir Fails to Challenge Dem Convention CEO's Malarkey About
September 6th, 2011 4:37 PM
In light of a new raft of abysmal polling data for President Obama, Martin Bashir this afternoon brought on Democratic National Convention committee CEO Steve Kerrigan to rally rank-and-file Democrats at home watching MSNBC.
At one point, Kerrigan insisted that "at the president's direction, we're the first and only convention in history to eliminate corporate money, lobbyists' money, PAC…

September 6th, 2011 11:07 AM
MSNBC's "Morning Joe" spent a good deal of time Tuesday discussing Teamsters president James Hoffa Jr.'s disgraceful Labor Day comments about the Tea Party and his political rivals.
After playing a clip of Hoffa's remarks as well as President Obama calling for civility months ago, Scarborough pointed out, "There seems to be a rule here which is don’t say really mean things that coarsen the…
Scarborough: 'No Way' Perry Can Beat Obama
September 6th, 2011 8:42 AM
Looks like Joe Scarborough aims to single-handedly winnow the Republican presidential field. A few weeks ago, the Morning Joe host dismissed Michele Bachmann as "a joke." Today—not for the first time, as NB's Scott Whitlock documented—Scarborough proclaimed that there is "no way" Rick Perry could beat Barack Obama.
Scarborough, imagining an anti-Perry ad, surmised that Perry's statements…

September 3rd, 2011 4:44 PM
National Review's Rich Lowry took a couple of shots at new MSNBC host Al Sharpton Saturday.
As the panel of "Fox News Watch" discussed the controversial Reverend's new show, Lowry quipped, "We know he’ll never be President of the United States because he can’t read a teleprompter" (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):
MSNBC's Wolffe: Jimmy Carter Created More Jobs Than George W. Bush
September 3rd, 2011 4:13 PM
Appearing as a guest on Friday's Last Word to discuss Republican presidential candidate Jon Huntsman's plan to simplify the income tax code, MSNBC political analyst Richard Wolffe saw extremism in the Tea Party movement as he asserted that Huntsman's plan was "moderate when you compare it to where the Tea Party extremists want to take this."
As the discussion turned to the current anemic job…

September 3rd, 2011 3:24 PM
On MSNBC's Political Nation Friday evening, host Al Sharpton interviewed Ryan Grim, Washington bureau chief for The Huffington Post. They spoke about House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH):
GRIM: So, you`re right, the record that he is amassing is probably one of the most extreme records that a House Speaker has put up in decades.
SHARPTON: Well, based on your last statement, he being probably…
NBC and MSNBC Completely Ignore Solyndra Bankruptcy
September 3rd, 2011 3:21 PM
As NewsBusters reported Wednesday, a solar company that was given over a half a billion dollars in stimulus funds declared bankruptcy this week.
Although most news outlets did at least give this story some coverage, two organizations owned by the same company with intricate ties to the Obama administration completely ignored it.
