On CBS This Morning Saturday, as the show covered proposed new laws to protect police officers from hate crimes, correspondent Tony Dokoupil and anchors Alex Wagner and Anthony Mason all oddly seemed to worry about whether it was appropriate to call it a "hate crime" to attack a police officer. Nets Hype Kushner ‘Under Scrutiny,’ Then Admit He’s 'Not a Target'

On Friday, all three network morning shows began with anchors breathlessly declaring that President Trump’s son-in-law and White House adviser Jared Kushner was “under scrutiny” in the FBI’s Russia investigation. However, after offering the screaming salacious headlines, each broadcast quietly admitted that Kushner was not the target of the investigation nor was he accused of any wrongdoing.

Nets Fear ‘Deep Cuts’ in Trump Budget, Ignore Ballooning Debt

On Monday and Tuesday, the broadcast networks all read from the same liberal script as anchors and correspondents blasted the Trump administration’s proposed budget for making “deep cuts” to “social safety nets” that would be “especially cruel” to the poor. Not once was the nation’s nearly $20 trillion debt mentioned in any of the one-sided coverage.

The Washington Post’s executive editor has convicted Donald Trump. One would assume the only solution is impeachment. Appearing on CBS This Morning, Marty Baron touted the Post’s war against the President. He concluded, “When I was coming out of high school, there was Nixon and Watergate. And so, I wasn't in the middle of that, obviously. But this feels like that in many ways.”

After Brookings Institution Senior Fellow Benjamin Wittes, a friend of fired FBI Director James Comey, took to PBS to accuse President Trump of a “calculated” attempt to “compromise” Comey simply by shaking the law enforcement chief’s hand at a White House event, the media ran wild with the story on Friday as another controversy for the commander-in-chief.

Sneering CBS: Ailes’s Success at Fox Due to ‘Exploiting Divisions’

The sneering reaction to the death of Roger Ailes continued on CBS, Friday. NPR’s David Folkenflik attacked the Fox News founder for “fostering and exploiting divisions.” He also insisted that it was FNC that encouraged the “emphasis on opinion rather than reporting.” As though liberal journalists on ABC, CBS and NBC haven’t been doing that for decades.
