Who were the combatants at a rally on Sunday in California? According to CBS This Morning, Monday, it was a “right-wing demonstration” by “right-wingers.” Instead of labeling left wingers who attacked them, reporter Margaret Brennan only identified “anarchists.” 

On Saturday, climate change again became a source of blame for Hurricane Harvey and its path of destruction along the Texas coastline as it moved inland where it has since dropped biblical-like amounts of flooding in the Houston area. Two hosts on CBS and MSNBC invoked climate change, without taking into account things like steering currents.

While ABC and NBC only produced a news brief about a protest in favor of Colin Kaepernick, CBS This Morning on Thursday devoted an entire segment to “taking a stand” for the football player, even hyping comparisons of him to Rosa Parks and Muhammad Ali. Reporter Dana Jacobson spun the rally in New York, cheering, “Social justice advocates rallied to show their support for Colin Kaepernick.” 

Seeming to place the responsibility on Donald Trump, CBS This Morning on Wednesday pointedly noted that protesters in Phoenix didn’t become violent until after the President spoke. Reporting from the scene, journalist Carter Evans observed, “This is where thousands of protesters and Trump supporters were gathered before the rally. They were very vocal, but largely peaceful.”

Excited journalists are salivating at the idea that the events of this week could be the beginning of the end for Donald Trump. On Thursday, the New York Times predicted that Republicans were doomed. On Friday, CBS This Morning co-host Norah O’Donnell intoned, “The President’s isolation grows.”

CBS This Morning co-hosts on Thursday skipped questioning Virginia’s Terry McAuliffe about his debunked Charlottesville claims. Instead, the journalists offered softballs about whether the Democratic governor thinks Donald Trump is “unfit to be President.” 

Despite President Trump condemning white supremacist hate groups by name on Monday for the violence in Charlottesville, on Tuesday, the network morning shows lined up to blame the President for the rise of such groups and having “emboldened” them with his 2016 campaign.

Other than 9/11, not much happened in 2001. CBS This Morning co-host Norah O’Donnell on Monday excluded the September 11th terror attacks in order to conclude that there have been “three times” as many “right wing” violence. 

In a remarkable display of group think on Thursday, all three network morning shows touted North Korea hurling personal insults against President Trump as an act of “defiance” and promoted forced demonstrations in Pyongyang as a “display of unity” from the oppressed people in the authoritarian regime.

On Wednesday, the network morning shows portrayed President Trump’s stern warning to North Korea as being more “dangerous” than the rogue authoritarian regime threatening the world with nuclear weapons. Going into full panic mode, hosts and correspondents warned viewers that Trump was “going to make a bad situation worse” with his “blistering rhetoric.”

Who better than an ex-Hillary Clinton adviser who worked on the Iran deal to weigh in on the escalating conflict with North Korea? That’s who Charlie Rose turned to on Wednesday’s CBS This Morning. The co-hosts did not press Jake Sullivan on problems or scandals involving the Obama administration’s Iran negotiations. 

All three networks on Tuesday worried about Donald Trump’s “lack of curiosity” in the wake of a “startling” new climate change report. After discussing a draft report leaked to the New York Times, Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos sneered, “No word yet on whether they will suppress, dismiss, or endorse the report.” 

Now there’s something you don’t see very often. CBS This Morning on Monday highlighted a Christian evangelist who is spreading the faith to Muslim countries. Co-host Charlie Rose introduced, “An unassuming 86-year-old evangelist is sharing a message of healing around the world. She's traveled for years to several predominantly Muslim countries to spread the Gospel.”

On Friday's This Morning show, CBS News reporter Adriana Diaz reported on her seven days on the streets of Chicago's South Side, one of the most dangerous and crime-ridden areas in the U.S. While her report gamely tried to focus on how guns were to blame for the violence, astute observers who know how difficult it is for law-abiding citizens to get guns in the Windy City will notice that, despite…
