On Thursday morning, NBC’s Today show cheered former Vice President Joe Biden officially entering the 2020 presidential race and delighted in him taking “direct aim” at President Trump with a nasty campaign video. Correspondent Andrea Mitchell was particularly enthralled, touting the “dramatic” video “using images from the Charlottesville white supremacist march.”

Having decided that a new life goal is to lobby for the impeachment of President Trump, MSNBC’s Hardball host Chris Matthews also made clear over the last week that another objective is to make clear to guests and viewers that Trump’s an illegitimate President because he “won a fluke election” with “Russian help” and that Democrats need “a cheering section.”

Apparently it’s easier to just pay fines than it is to make active changes to a site’s privacy policies — when your Big Tech company is big enough. In the last quarter, Facebook pulled in more than $15 billion in revenue, and reported that it would set aside $5 billion for any fines “as and when necessary.”

Joy Behar might as well have been wearing a Make America Great Again hat on Thursday’s The View, as she passionately hailed Joe Biden’s “patriotic” 2020 presidential video announcement. Not to support President Trump of course, but because of her wistful longing to get America “back” to when “we were the good guys.”  

MSNBC's Morning Joe invited former White House aide Omarosa on Thursday to discuss President Trump's temperament, the Mueller report, and to wildly speculate. Omarosa told co-host Mika Brzezinski that Trump is trying to create chaos because he, "is hiding something from the American people and he knows it's something that would affect his presidency and keep him from being re-elected."

Google has come under fire from both Republicans and Democrats for its invasions of privacy. Now Congress wants is holding its feet to the fire. Democrats and Republicans from the House Energy and Commerce Committee penned an April 23 open letter to Google’s CEO over its Sensorvault database. They demanded answers from Google by May 7, followed with a briefing by May 10. 

Google has gone out of its way to attack conservatives. Americas PAC, a pro-life,conservative political action committee run by Tom Donelson, has fallen afoul of Google’s ad policies for creating and running pro-life ads. Americas PAC was permanently banned from advertising by Google on April 5.  

As Democrats make hay out of the potential “obstruction of justice” details in the Mueller report and ponder impeachment proceedings, the New York Times is taking a much more enthusiastic line on impeaching a president than it did the last time it was done, to Democrat Bill Clinton, in 1999. Facebook is subtly trying to discredit conservative media as “conspiracy theories” and it’s using Wikipedia to do it. The company’s latest policy update, “Expanding Our Fact-Checking Program,” included new details on how the platform planned to combat “misinformation.”

Don’t be surprised, but CBS This Morning on Thursday covered the launch of Joe Biden without ever mentioning any of his gaffes, including his habit of being grabby with women. Instead, co-host Norah O’Donnell touted “Uncle Joe” talking about America’s “core values.” The CBS journalist also repeated the talking points from the Democrat’s announcement video. 

All three networks led Thursday morning with former Vice President Joe Biden’s long-awaited announcement that he would run for president in 2020. ABC’s Good Morning America focused heavily on Biden’s appeal to Democrats’ “patriotism” and “American values,” with correspondent Terry Moran gushing about Biden taking back this “nationalism” message for “progressives.”
