256 Days of Hillary Dodging Press; Woodward Questions ‘Transparency’

It’s now been 256 days since Hillary Clinton has done a formal press conference and the Washington Post’s Bob Woodward is wondering about the Democrat’s potential “transparency” as President. Woodward appeared on CBS This Morning, Tuesday, to offer some critiques of Clinton. But the famous Watergate journalist was sometimes mild in his assessments. He wondered, “I think people say if she became…

PC Police Not Amused by Ellen DeGeneres’s Bolt Tweet

In the immortal words of Sergeant Hulka from Stripes, “Lighten up, Francis.” According to CNN.com, there are people who think a tweet from Ellen DeGeneres is racist. “Some on Twitter found the image less than golden,” according to the story, “with cries of racism and insensitivity in joking about a white woman riding the back of a black man.”

What The Past Can Teach Us

While we shouldn't live in the past, we can certainly learn from it. We are not the first humans to walk the Earth and yet too many, especially the young, suffer from the conceit that history is just a boring subject in school. PBS is rerunning episodes on its award-winning series "American Experience" on modern presidents and the challenges they faced. Each episode retraces what presidents…

Media Vastly Overestimate Hillary Crowd Size

3000! Do I see 3000? Yup! My biased lenses allows me to see 3000 people attending the Hillary Clinton speech in Scranton, Pennsylvania yesterday where Vice President Joe Biden also made an appearance.  The funny thing about the election campaign so far is how few 360 degree visuals we get of the campaign crowds so the public can actually gauge the turnout for themselves. Your humble…

ABC Refuses to Call Milwaukee Violence 'Riots'

“Protest” is a popular word these days, especially when it downplays reality. Following the violence in Milwaukee last weekend, ABC’s World News Tonight used the words “protest(er)” seven times, but used “riot” only when describing police gear. CBS and NBC each used “riot(er)” once, but also preferred “protest(er),” even though what they described and portrayed amounted to obvious rioting.

Big 3, CNN Yawn At Felony Conviction of Democratic Attorney General

On Tuesday, ABC, CBS, and NBC's morning newscasts, along with CNN's New Day, all failed to cover a jury convicting Pennsylvania's Democratic attorney general, Kathleen Kane, on two felony charges of perjury and seven other criminal counts. MSNBC covered the breaking news of the verdict on The Rachel Maddow Show on Monday, and on Tuesday's Morning Joe. Fox News Channel gave news briefs on Kane's…

NYT's Hot Air: Air Conditioning Vital for Prisoners, Bad for Planet?

Air conditioning: Great for prisoners, bad for the environment? That’s the unwitting and contradictory takeaway from Tuesday’s New York Times. The lack of air conditioning in some Southern prisons led the National section. Alan Blinder fretted: “In U.S.’s ‘Sweatbox’ Jails, a Constitutional Clash Over Air-Conditioning.” But the same day's Science section asked rhetorically: "...can I use my air-…

AP: Trump Is a Down-Ticket Problem — But Hillary's Dishonesty Isn't?

One of the press's favorite current themes is how Donald Trump's presence at the top of the Republican general-election ticket in the fall has the potential to hurt Republican candidates in Senate and congressional races. That may well be, but the Democrats appear to have a more serious and far more intractable problem which those in the establishment press, including Steve Peoples at the…

ABC, NBC Skip This ‘Big Setback’ to ObamaCare

ABC and NBC on Monday night and Tuesday morning ignored what is being described as a “big setback” for ObamaCare, completely skipping the fact that insurance giant Aetna will reduce by two thirds its involvement in the President’s health care plan. This absence is despite a combined six hours of air time over the two days.

NBC Ignores Egyptian Athlete Sent Home Over Anti-Semitism

On Monday afternoon, the Associated Press reported on Egyptian Judo athlete Islam El Shehaby being reprimanded by the International Olympic Committee and sent home after refusing to shake the hand of an Israeli competitor after a match at the Rio games on Friday. While NBC’s local Washington D.C. affiliate WRC-4 posted the report to its website, neither Monday’s NBC Nightly News nor Tuesday’s…

WaPo Exposes ‘Traffic is Good’ Environmentalist Role in MD Gridlock

Occasionally liberal agendas conflict with one another. The Washington Post exposed the challenge of promoting infrastructure spending and appeasing environmentalists in a recent story about Washington, D.C. gridlock. The liberal media generally support both climate alarmism and opposition to fossil fuels, as well as calls for greater infrastructure spending on “roads and bridges.”

Nets Continue Silence on Christian Genocide

It has been nearly a week since the State Department released its 2015 Annual Report on International Religious Freedom (IRF). To date, the broadcast networks have not even acknowledged the report or its findings; and major newspapers have offered perfunctory coverage.

AP Laments That Climate Change Debate Is 'Tribal,' 'Contentious'

The latest installment of the Associated Press's "Divided America" series on Monday focused on "climate change," aka "global warming." Not surprisingly, even though there are only 17 percent of Americans (allegedly "the fastest-growing group," which seems doubtful given that getting to that tiny minority level has required at least a quarter-century) who "are alarmed by climate change and want…
