CNN's Christiane Amanpour took her left-leaning, pro-European Union activism to a new level on Tuesday during an interview of pro-Brexit politician Daniel Hannan. Amanpour, who recently blasted the referendum as an example of "xenophobia", tried to implicate Hannan as somehow partially responsible for supposed post-vote "hate crimes."

CNN Money associate editor Charles Riley deeply lamented British voters' decision to "exile themselves from the European Union" in a Wednesday piece on CNN.com. Riley played up "reports of racist abuse," and underlined that "it's not easy to dismiss some of the darker forces that were conjured during the [Brexit] campaign." Sneering New York Times writer Dan Bilefsky on Tuesday tarred Brexit voters as inciting bigotry and “xenophobia.” This is despite the fact that in paragraph five, the journalist conceded that “police in at least two major cities said they had not recorded an increase in hate crimes after the vote.” 

It is now two days since it became obvious that the claim that "millions of Britons" have signed a House of Commons petition advocating a do-over Brexit vote is bogus. The petition's buildup to millions of "signatures" was predominantly caused by bot-generating pranksters, and the entire effort proves absolutely nothing about UK citizens' alleged "regrets" over voting to leave the European Union…

Maybe it was those college courses on the history of Europe that soured me on the idea of a united continent. How could a conglomeration of nation states noted for invading each other, pillaging and warring against each other form a union? How could a continent with different languages, cultures and money become a united states of Europe modeled after the USA?

Writing on The Washington Post’s Wonkblog early Monday morning, writer Emily Badger bemoaned the June 23 vote by the United Kingdom (U.K.) to leave the European Union (E.U.) as an example of a bad referendum because it gave voters power to decide something that involved “thorny debates we elect government officials to hash out.” 

Journalists on all three networks on Monday continued to howl with outrage over Britain’s decision to exit the European Union. Reporters on ABC, CBS and NBC attacked the “worst decision” that could lead to “economic disaster.” On the Today show, analyst Jim Cramer assailed, “In terms of the financial chaos and collapse, it’s just one of the worst moves I’ve seen.”
