Despite admitting the move had the support of “three dozen generals and admirals”, NBC Nightly News seemed peeved that President Trump pardoned Michael Behenna, a former U.S. soldier convicted of unlawfully killing a terrorist in a combat zone. But back in 2017, NBC cheered when President Obama released Chelsea Manning, who damaged U.S. intelligence by leaking secrets to WikiLeaks (before the media hated them). They also ignored Obama’s release of an unrepentant terrorist.
During Sunday’s so-called Reliable Sources on CNN (before we learned there was no collusion), the liberal media’s janitor, Brian Stelter was rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic as he played defense for the media’s two years of speculation in the face of no new indictments expected from the Special Counsel. Now, given the Special Counsel’s findings of no collusion, Stelter looked even more buffoonish.
President Trump stood firm with Israel again on Thursday when he announced on Twitter that the United States was going to recognize their sovereignty over the Golan Heights. That didn’t sit well with the liberal American broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, NBC), who decried the historic move as just a political stunt on their evening newscasts.
It was a meeting worth taking note of, not just because President Trump was meeting with the so-called “Trump of the Tropics” but because of what it could mean for both countries going forward, and for dealing with the crisis in Venezuela. But the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, and NBC) were apparently bored by Trump’s Tuesday meeting with Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and ignored it altogether.
The rollout of Senator Amy Klobuchar’s (D-MN) presidential campaign was immediately mired by serious reports sourced from former staffers that claimed the Senator was an abusive boss. When ABC’s Good Morning America questioned her on Monday, they avoided all the terrible details choosing instead to lob softball questions about her being a “tough boss”. But during Tuesday’s Special Report, Fox News anchor Bret Baier pressed her on whether she had ever “throw[n] a binder at anybody”.
In a confirmation hearing late last year and a later questionnaire, District Court nominee Brian C. Buescher was assailed for his Catholic beliefs and membership in the Knights of Columbus by Democratic Senators Mazie Hirono of Hawaii and Kamala Harris of California. The incident, which went unreported by the broadcast network news programs, was back in the news Thursday following a rebuke from Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard. Hint, the networks ignored that too.
They just couldn’t help themselves. During their Wednesday evening reports on the deeply touching and emotional funeral service for the late President George H.W. Bush at the National Cathedral, broadcast networks ABC, CBS, and NBC had to get in their digs against President Trump for his behavior (or lack thereof). One even touted how Trump managed to keep his mouth shut about Bush all week.
Last week, NBC’s Saturday Night Live united the left and right in outrage when they targeted former Navy SEAL and now Congressman-elect Dan Crenshaw for ridicule regarding his missing right eye, which he lost in an IED blast. But during this weekend’s show, they invited Crenshaw on to bury the hatchet and to deliver a very important Veterans Day message.
The Media Research Center (MRC) today released a new poll, conducted by McLaughlin & Associates, specifically looking at conservatives’ attitudes towards the social media platform, Twitter. According to the poll, almost half of the conservatives (49 percent) surveyed do not trust Twitter to treat all of its users equally, regardless of their political beliefs. That’s nearly three times as many (16.7 percent) who trust Twitter.
