Fact-checking fact-checkers

The fact-checkers at Snopes.com haven't done a single fact check on President Biden's statements since the Taliban took over Afghanistan. But they did do a fact check on October 18 attacking President Trump for being soft on the Taliban. A meme by the leftists at Occupy Democrats was ruled "Mostly True."

On Tuesday, "AP Fact Check" leaped to the defense of CNN reporter Clarissa Ward when Washington Times columnist Tim Young mocked her on Twitter for saying the Taliban seemed friendly. On Wednesday, AP ruined their own "fact check" by reporting the "friendly" Taliban nearly pistol-whipped one of Ward's producers in Kabul.

Snopes co-founder David Mikkelson has been accused of publishing plagiarized articles under a false name.

New York Times reporter Davey Alba attempted a fact-check on alleged Covid “misinformation” on Tuesday. It didn’t go well. PolitiFact’s aggressive defense of Biden and Harris popped up again on Friday. They tagged it as “False” for a Tik-Tok video that “Says Joe Biden and Kamala Harris distrusted COVID-19 vaccines.” The quotes in the video are all accurate, but they caused Facebook to flag the video as “Missing Context.” As in – the editing is too negative for their liking.

Here’s an easy test to see whether fact-checking websites can make any claim to be “independent” and nonpartisan in tone. Biden staffers claimed Republicans “defunded the police.” That’s a bald-faced lie.

PolitiFact has a partisan tendency to come running to Biden's defense, and  liberal tendency to "fact check" arguments about Democrats backing abortion in the third trimester. So much for the facts. A U.K.-based fact-checking outlet financed by liberal billionaire George Soros tried as early as February 2020, to swat down the idea that COVID-19 had leaked from a laboratory in communist China.

Fact-checkers came running to President Biden's defense again. In Sunday's Washington Post, "Fact Checker" Glenn Kessler had an article headlined "Biden's claim that his 'great grand-pop' was a coal miner mostly pans out." But if you read the actual article...it doesn't pan out. 

The Associated Press (AP) tried to run cover for President Joe Biden by gaslighting readers on his role in rising gas prices.
