For a network that started Sunday with Jane Pauley’s pillow-fluffing interview of Hillary and Chelsea Clinton then Margaret Brennan blasting Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), CBS ended Sunday with a 60 Minutes piece by Scott Pelley that worshipped at the feet of the pro-impeachment crowd.  While Pelley allowed his liberal guests to speak ad nauseam, he was abrasive and frequently interrupted and bashed to the President and the only person he interviewed against impeachment, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA).

Jay Sekulow, Donald Trump’s lawyer, sparred with CBS This Morning co-host Tony Dokoupil on Friday, offering a feisty response and forcing the network to actually hear about Adam Schiff’s fake transcript from the Ukraine hearing. As the Media Research Center’s Nick Fondacaro noted on Thursday, CBS and the other networks skipped the fabricated transcript read by the California Democrat.

After Democrat Rep. Adam Schiff’s embarrassing display during Thursday’s hearing, where he fabricated quotations from President Trump and then claimed it was a “parody,” the hosts of the View Friday responded to his performance art in very different ways. Surprisingly liberal host Joy Behar wasn’t a fan, but her co-host Sunny Hostin couldn’t be more enthusiastic in her praise, declaring Schiff “the man.”

Rush Limbaugh and conservative Twitter made a big deal on Thursday out of Rep. Adam Schiff wildly mischaracterizing President Trump's phone call with the president of Ukraine: "And I’m going to say this only seven times, so you better listen good. I want you to make up dirt on my political opponent, understand? Lots of dirt, on this and on that." On NPR's All Things Considered, anchor Ari Shapiro interviewed Schiff for almost seven minutes, and never brought it up. Once again, so much for considering All Things. The PBS NewsHour was even worse.

As part of his opening remarks during the highly anticipated House Intelligence Committee hearing with acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire Thursday, chairman Adam Schiff (D-CA) read from a transcript of President Trump’s call with the president of Ukraine. The only problem was; he was making it up with the goal of dramatizing it into a mafia-style shakedown. And, while the broadcast networks were busy pushing the narrative of a White House cover-up, they ignored Schiff’s wild tale.

On Thursday’s The View, the co-hosts held a Skype interview with Democrat Adam Schiff about the Mueller hearing and what Democrats would do going forward. Co-hosts Ana Navarro and Whoopi Goldberg badgered Schiff that his party needed to impeach Trump now, while Joy Behar ranted Republicans were treasonous and being “helped” by Russia.

Who better than hard-left partisan Adam Schiff to speculate on the Attorney General’s motives and Robert Mueller’s complaints about the summary of the Mueller report? CBS This Morning turned to Schiff on Wednesday as co-host John Dickerson wondered, “Do you think the Attorney General lied to Congress?”

Objectivity, like Elvis, long ago left the building in Washington and so the report by Special Counsel Robert Mueller is being read and interpreted through mostly biased eyes. Democrats, who had counted on Mueller to prove that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia, were initially as crestfallen as they were on election night 2016. Still, they are undeterred in the pursuit of their ultimate goal: evicting the president from the White House in a political coup unprecedented in American history.

Newsweek joined the rest of the press, heavily invested in Trump’s guilt, in hysterics over Attorney General Bill Barr’s use of the word “spying” to describe the FBI’s investigation of the 2016 Trump presidential campaign. Reporter Nicole Goodkind's analysis featured the bizarre headline “William Barr Is Redefining What it Means to ‘Spy.’” Goodkind engaged in some mindreading to assume Bill Barr is a Trump flunkie: "Attorney General William Barr exonerated President Donald Trump of all wrong-doing in the Russia investigation last month, and now he wants to take things a step further."

MSNBC Morning Joe co-host Willie Geist proved that even a broken clock is right twice a day as the morning show welcomed on House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff. After co-host Mika Brzezinski let Schiff get some free swings in against "handpicked" Attorney General William Barr, Geist asked the questions that Schiff should get every time appears for an interview.

As my colleague Bill D’Agostino outlined last month, CNN’s The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer is not so much a home for news, analysis, and substantive interviews as it is a green room for Democratic members of Congress. Tuesday’s show provided another illustration of that sad reality as arguably the most senior and prestigious CNN anchor allowed House Democrats Adam Schiff (CA) then Jerry Nadler (NY) to bloviate ad nauseam and, worse yet, with softball questions to assist them.

New York Times reporter Nicholas Fandos has for two years spun in favor of the Democrats’ Russian collusion theory, supporting Robert Mueller and Democrats on the committee, especially ranking member (now chairman) Rep. Adam Schiff. He did so again after Republicans demanded Schiff resign from the House Intelligence Committee in Friday’s “Demands for Ouster at Explosive House Hearing.” Fandos’ revealed his apparent disdain for the Republican move: "It went downhill from there."
