This wasn’t the first time liberal media members likened Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx.) to Joe McCarthy or called him a demagogue. But it didn't seem appropriate for PBS’s Inside Washington to end its program Friday on such a defamatory and arguably false note regarding a sitting senator (video follows with transcript and commentary):

PBS's Tavis Smiley made a comment Thursday that every African-American as well as liberal media member should sit up and take notice. A 6 p.m. Google News search on "Occupy Movement" (not in quotes, sorted by date) returned 69 items dated September 16 and 17. The same search adding the word "capitalism" returned only two items. This is odd, because, as one of the two items returned noted, "capitalism" — as in ending it — is the core platform of the few who remain involved with the two year-old movement.
