PBS Host Calls MSNBC Anchor and MSNBC Contributors 'Advocates' - To Th
Talk about calling a spade a spade.
On MSNBC's NOW Wednesday, PBS's Jeff Greenfield called host Alex Wagner as well as the MSNBC contributors on the panel - David Corn, Joy Reid, and Katrina vanden Heuvel - "advocates" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
PBS NewsHour Begins Series on GOP’s Future, Gripes About Tea Party
Apparently PBS has decided to make like MSNBC and spend more time dissecting the Republican Party’s problems real, imagined, and/or overblown. On Monday’s PBS NewsHour, anchor Judy Woodruff announced that the program would begin “a series of conversations about where the Republican Party goes from here.” The first installment, a discussion with former Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott (R-Miss.),…
‘Inside Washington’ Ends Program Calling Ted Cruz a Joe McCarthy-L
This wasn’t the first time liberal media members likened Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tx.) to Joe McCarthy or called him a demagogue.
But it didn't seem appropriate for PBS’s Inside Washington to end its program Friday on such a defamatory and arguably false note regarding a sitting senator (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Nina Totenberg: ‘Nancy Pelosi Is the Most Effective Congressional Le
Now THIS is some SERIOUSLY funny stuff.
On PBS’s Inside Washington Friday, NPR’s Nina Totenberg actually called House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) “the most effective Congressional leader probably in 30 years” (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Politico’s Budoff Brown: It’s OK House Bill Failed Because That
It’s no secret that the liberal media sympathize with the Democrats’ position on the current government shutdown (and on most policy matters, really). Politico’s Carrie Budoff Brown underscored that point on Tuesday’s PBS NewsHour when she spun the failure of a House bill as a net positive because it was what Democrats were hoping for.
Brown was making a guest appearance on the NewsHour to…
Tavis Smiley: 'Black People Will Have Lost Ground in Every Single Econ
PBS's Tavis Smiley made a comment Thursday that every African-American as well as liberal media member should sit up and take notice.
Appearing on Fox News's Hannity, Smiley said, "The data is going to indicate sadly that when the Obama administration is over, black people will have lost ground in every single leading economic indicator category" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Leftists Protest at Boston PBS Station Demanding Koch Be Fired From th
About 40 leftists assembled with an unauthorized adult-size Elmo to protest the presence of capitalist David Koch on the board of Boston PBS superstation WGBH. They decried Koch as a “climate denier” and a “polluter” and demanded his resignation from the panel. The Elmo knockoff held a sign that said “Elmo Love WGBH / Elmo No Love Koch Lies.”
Conservatives apparently can’t serve at a PBS…
Why Is The Government Now Spending Millions For PBS to Take On Establi
Back in the 1960s, PBS was created to fill a hole in the market for educational television. So it’s strange to read The Washington Post and find PBS trying to finagle its way into a crowded market of digital and mobile apps in 2013. Reporter Cecelia Kang began: “On television, Big Bird stands tall among children’s shows. But on the iPad, he is just a little chick.”
Kang says PBS is hoping for…
Pat Buchanan Smacks Down Eleanor Clift: Obama Using ‘A Sinister and
Syndicated columnist Pat Buchanan and the Daily Beast’s Eleanor Clift got into quite a heated debate about the government shutdown on PBS’s McLaughlin Group Friday.
At one point, Buchanan said Obama “wants to maximize the pain in order to maximize his political gain…It is a sinister and sadistic tactic” (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Margaret Carlson: Young People Who Don’t Want to Buy Health Insuranc
This is really rich.
Bloomberg’s Margaret Carlson on PBS’s Inside Washington Friday called young people that don’t want to buy health insurance “deadbeats” (video follows with transcript and commentary):
Charlie Rose Talks to Gore for 30 Minutes Without Mentioning 15 Year H
With the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change about to release its much-anticipated fifth assessment report Friday, all eyes have been focused on how contributors will address the fifteen year halt to temperature increases despite rising levels of atmospheric carbon dioxide.
It was therefore preposterous of PBS’s Charlie Rose to spend almost 30 minutes talking to former President Bill…
Bill Kristol Schools Tavis Smiley on Why Republicans Oppose ObamaCare
On NBC's Meet the Press Sunday, PBS host Tavis Smiley spouted the tired media meme that the only reason Republicans are opposed to ObamaCare is because they hate the President.
Fortunately for viewers, The Weekly Standard's Bill Kristol was there to say, "If Nancy Pelosi or John Kerry were president, Republicans would have voted against Kerrycare or Pelosicare. It's not personal to President…
PBS’s Woodruff: Is Debt Limit ‘An Appropriate Tool’ To Restrain
PBS anchor Judy Woodruff asked a question on Monday’s NewsHour that perfectly captured the modern liberal mentality about government spending and debt.
During a taped interview with former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, Woodruff asked: [Video below. MP3 audio here.]
Establishment Press Virtually Ignores Occupy Movement's Second Anniver
A 6 p.m. Google News search on "Occupy Movement" (not in quotes, sorted by date) returned 69 items dated September 16 and 17.
The same search adding the word "capitalism" returned only two items. This is odd, because, as one of the two items returned noted, "capitalism" — as in ending it — is the core platform of the few who remain involved with the two year-old movement.
